Prefer this guy to Cannon on paper. Older, more experienced, more of a rounded player and a few inches taller.

Agreed. He'll find sharpness and the wingers will start knowing where to find him, but can't knock the effort. Moved into the channels to make stuff happen, hassled for the ball, and when Curtis was off for the corner it was Collins that filled in for him. 

You can see his heart and passion when decisions don't go his way. 

There were a couple of sub par performances but you could see already what the new players have mentally. Heads didn't drop when we were struggling and even those players got back into the game. 

Really good win given our short preseason. If we can pick up points whilst still getting upto fitness and with players bedding in it bodes well. I feel we're going to have to get through a number of scrappy games this season.

Reasonable so far, both sides will be disappointed they didn't score.

We dominated the opening spell and it's a shame we couldn't make more of it. Can't see it ending 0-0.

A bit sloppy, still seemingly in pre-season mode to an extent - in fact everybody has pretty much carried on as they were in pre-season. Would be nice to see Bird starting to assert a bit more influence, Houihane probably needs to move a bit deeper to get involved.

NML impressed, just keep pinging balls down the wing and we'll win this. 

Hope we don't make too many subs or we could well end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

I reckon so. Not that we'll hit that every week but last season Wednesday and Ipswich only managed just over 22k and 21k respectively. Sunderland's 30k average was pretty impressive.

I think I read somewhere "a minimum of 20" league 1 or 2 games, but bear in mind that this will include play off games, so we'll get maybe 2 or 3 live regular games at most.
