  1. I would love to see us bring in Marek Rodák from Fulham. Played under Warne on loan from Fulham in 17/18 and 18/19. Looked outstanding when he played at Pride Park last time…
  2. Well, I am baffled by the Falcons. Sign Cousins to a 4 year $180 million deal and then draft Penix at 8! I like Penix, but they should have traded down a little with the Vikings first…
  3. I’m of the view that if we do have clear and obvious errors, they should be exactly that. If the VAR can’t pick up on it at real time within watching a replay on a monitor in the time it takes to be ready for the resultant kick off, then it’s not clear and obvious and the decision stands. Or just scrap the whole thing… (unfortunately there is too much money at stake, which ruins everything.)
  4. All I can see with that fanhub logo is a diagram of a uterus…
  5. If the shirts are scheduled to be available in June, one would imagine the sponsor has already been confirmed.
  6. Anybody under the age of 27/28 has never witnessed an automatic promotion for Derby County. Quite a sobering thought, really.
  7. I imagine it’s necessary to advise that it is criminal offence, as the FA will also be within their rights to punish us for a pitch invasion.
  8. This is another example of why my love for the game becomes a little more tarnished. I’m proud of the fact that I have become an old-fashioned bitter football fan and I have no idea of what is happening in the first division, nor do I have any idea on who is still in Europe. I don’t even know what the format of the European competitions are nowadays, and I really don’t care. It’s all predicated on greed for the biggest clubs and every rule appears to be geared towards maintaining an “elite”. I looked at the England squad not so long ago, and it had a number of players who I had never heard of. I love Derby County and not much more, to be honest. I love the fact that in the lower divisions, there are probably 16 or so teams at the start of the season who think that, if things go well, this could be their year. However, that gap is becoming wider and wider each year due to the top echelons being governed by greed. The fact that so many teams are going so close to the wire and getting points deductions is down to fear of slipping off the gravy train therefore eye watering amounts of money creates eye watering amounts of greed. For me, a top level footballer should earn a maximum of what a CEO or a doctor would earn. Why should they be earning that sort of money a week? And why shouldn’t they get another job after they have retired? Anyway, the FA Cup used to be a flagship event that everyone used to watch. Everyone who is around my age will have seen Coventry Vs Tottenham and can probably list a good number of players from each side that day - they were very special occasions. Now, the competition is dying a death of a thousand cuts, where it’s now just an irritant to the big teams, who will inevitably win it. I don’t even know who is the current holder, but I think it is monopolised by of a tiny handful of teams. Anyway, apologies for my rant.
  9. Understood - all I am saying is that the higher level you play at, the harder it is to look like quality. I’m just saying if Ebou was playing against the quality that DPFG was playing against, his technique would not appear as good. I’d wager the worst Derby player you have seen would be virtually impossible to dispossess by us mere mortals…
  10. Having scoured the European Leagues on transfermarkt for players on expiring contracts, I would look to see if Erik Exposito at Slask Wrocław was a possibility. He’s probably played himself into a higher level than we can afford now, but is a striker who is out of contract and is tall, mobile and scores goals… (disclaimer: opinion based purely on stats and highlights reels)
  11. I think you’re doing Darryl Powell a disservice. In his one season as a division 2 player for us he was dominating the midfield with van der Laan. You’re comparing division 3 Ebou to division 1 Darryl. In division 3, Powell would have been a huge standout.
  12. In fairness, Port Vale should be battling for every point at this stage, and we managed a total of 1 point against Shrewsbury!
  13. Excellent marketing video by Brackley!
  14. Rammstein played Coventry’s ground the other year. Fantastic, it was, too!
  15. I have 79 right now, but have seen nearer to 120 grounds with old and overseas grounds…
  16. I remember going to John Harkes’ last game, which was at Pompey (I think!). Lasted about 30 mins on the pitch and was then subbed off and never played again. There’s another player I have little to no time for!
  17. I think the issue is that everyone is there because they are supporting Derby - that is the common ground that unites us. To a football crowd, music is subjective (and, in fairness, I don’t care what they play before and after the game) meaning that what someone likes is anathema to someone else. For instance, I love music and I love football, just not together. I really like Drone Corpse Aviator by Archspire, however I also appreciate that many others do not. Why should that be blasted over the speakers when we score? (It shouldn’t)
  18. Goal music is something I really hate. One usually gets the initial bit of passion and enjoyment of the celebration before the crappy music comes in and pours water on it. It usually curtails my celebration and I would gladly see it consigned to the depths of history. It’s just too much like forced “fun”, which is another thing I can’t find time for.
  19. I have two complimentary tickets for the North Stand going free to anyone that wants them.
  20. Not sure I understand getting both Wilson and Fields. That said, they’re both cheap short term deals, but could get expensive the season after. However, with Arthur Smith calling the plays, neither will prosper.
  21. Yep - they are at it again. Profiteering at another club in financial trouble’s expense. Really starting to despise that club.
  22. Wilson going to the Steelers. Still think that the Falcons are being leveraged for more cash from the Vikings for Cousins.
  23. Towards the end of the season, stats go out the window, as teams at the bottom start scrapping for their lives and those in mid-table begin to start thinking about their holidays. Just focus on ourselves and get as many points as possible.
  24. Right. Chiefs win! time to get 3 hours sleep before work!
