  1. Inspired by the first page of this thread, I thought AI could catch my thoughts on the game: With eloquence befitting the ages, let this critique unfold upon the recent footballing spectacle. Derby County's recent triumph, gracefully and rightfully achieved, ascends our memories akin to noble birds in the radiance of a sunset. As the football ensemble of Derby County graced the pitch, they conjured a spiritual melody, resonating with the echoes of past grandeur and steadfastness. The fate of Port Vale seemed sealed, as Derby's players maneuvered the ball with the finesse of courtly virtuosos. The goals, three in number, rose like magnificent spires, painting a tableau of triumph as iconic as a masterpiece from the Renaissance. Derby County's victory narrates a tale of tradition and artistry interwoven into the very fabric of football. Port Vale, a respectable adversary, found themselves eclipsed in this theatrical performance, where Derby County's gems shone brightly until the game's final act.
  2. Run-in analysis for top 7. We have the easiest remaining opponents if the measurement is based on the opponent's points per game, Pompey's rest of the season is the toughest.
  3. I wouldn't oppose handing him an 18-month contract. We only have one striker for the next season, Wash. Collins, Waggy, and TJJ are all running out of contract. So, we are looking for 3-4 new contracts and/or players in the summer and Gayle surely could be one of them. It depends on his wishes and wages, but surely he is worth considering.
  4. We sold him to Swansea, not Plymouth so we won't have any sell-on fees left. Just call me a killjoy.
  5. I'd agree with you if we are still in League One next season. If not, then I'd make more changes.
  6. Where's Dean Moxey when you need him? Hard to understand why he was played as a full-back. 4 games as a striker and 2 goals if my memory serves me right. Not bad at all. 🙂 Hopefully, Collo is alright to play and Warne doesn't need to find modern-day Moxey.
  7. Whatever league we are in, we might be looking for a completely new midfield next season. Players whose contract is expiring: Max Bird Louie Sibley Joe Wildsmith Tyreece John-Jules Tom Barkhuizen (club option 1 year) Ebou Adams Liam Thompson Conor Hourihane Korey Smith Kwaku Oduroh James Collins Craig Forsyth Martyn Waghorn Darren Robinson Scott Loach I hope we can sign a new deal with Sibbo, Thommo, and Collo. All would be good enough as squad players in either league. Barks option I'd use, if we don't get promoted and Loach could get himself another contract. If in League One, I'd hope Wildsmith to continue. So, we should be looking at around a dozen incoming players and 4-5 them in center midfield.
  8. Sinisalo would be great but I believe he has a long contract with Villa. Niskanen is horrible even though he can run forever.
  9. Quick comment about Exeter's goalkeeper Sinisalo. He is on loan from Aston Villa, who have very high hopes for him. And not only them, he's been around the Finnish international team as a 3rd choice for a while now as he is expected to be the next first choice for years to come when Leverkusen's Hradecky retires. He is tall and excellent at stopping shots and penalties, and according to xG, he has prevented more goals than any other goalkeeper in the PL, Championship, L1, or L2 this season. 𝟳.𝟵 — 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗷𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗼 7.4 — Corey Addai 6.4 — Paul Farman 6.3 — Mads Hermansen They have another Finnish player, Niskanen, a wing-back with an engine that might overrun Jason Knight's one. Excellent when defending but not much of a footballer.
  10. I’d agree with this. Ignoring few posters who are less pleasant to read and very active and suddenly this forum is very good again 👌 I just wish people wouldn’t quote those I’ve ignored 🤣
  11. 3 points and an away clean sheet is an awesome outcome when you play against 12 men.
  12. The amount of games can be misleading as as the playing time has been mostly some minutes. Better insight would be minutes played and goal contribution/game. PL = Premier league, CS = Championship CS Stoke 23/24 - 14 Apps, 0 Goals 402 min CS Stoke 22/23 - 37 Apps, 3 Goals 2409 min, 3 G + 5 A = contribution every 3.33 games PL Newcastle 21/22 - 9 Apps, 0 Goals 106 min PL Newcastle 20/21 - 20 Apps, 1 Goal 543 min, 1 G = contribution every 6 games PL Newcastle 19/20 - 22 Apps, 4 Goals 847 min, 4 G + 2 A = contribution every 1.5 games CS West Brom 18/19 - 41 Apps, 24 Goals 2845 min, 23 G + 8 A = contribution every game A minute here or there and he's not worth it. But play him regularly, like Stoke did last season, and he will produce. I'm sure he'd destroy this league with Collo.
  13. I glanced through some of the last 30 pages and it looked like this: Maybe one could see the bigger picture as well. Or is it too early to use cognitive skills and take a bit of perspective? Yes, we are 2-3 weeks without a back-up striker, and it's hardly optimal. But our midfield is stronger than in December and we managed to sign one of the most effective winger/forwards in the league so wingers improved massively. It's risky but hardly a worth meltdown as you lot seem to think. Quality, not quantity is often phrased here, but now that opinion seems to be forgotten. This squad has been capable of having a great winning streak and with the help of CBT, it is possible to repeat. Obviously, you can stay butthurt whole weekend if that suits your plans. Perspective is another option if you want to.
  14. To be fair to him, any materials, articles, or objects (including self-made items), the use of which can result in the generation of smoke, heat and/or flames including lighters, matches, fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, and other smoke-emitting articles are prohibited. Kinda makes sense now, doesn't it?
  15. Wait what? Another puts a shift in midfielder as opposed to technical player? I would call Hourihane and Bird technical (and too similar) players and our midfield lacks someone who can run around a bit. Sounds good signing for me.
  16. The ref is so red that this is hard to watch.
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing him with Owen in the RamsTV studio.
  18. Vickero Wilso Nelso Casho Eldero NML Houriho Birdo CBT Sibbo Collo
  19. We just need to play to Collins' strengths. He is not a lone striker, we all know that.
  20. Twelve men, We've only got twelve men, We've only got twelve men, We've only got twelve men... 🎶🎶
  21. I'd be surprised if this is not a long-term project for him and the club. He hasn't been fit in ages so maybe he is happy with how his fitness is being taken care of here. Maybe the short-term goal is to stay fit this season and get some minutes. A medium-term goal could be a good pre-season with some bulking and buying shoes that make him stay on his feet. The long-term goal is to shoot us up to PL. When we are talking about persistent injury problems, I think the long-term approach is the only sensible one. And that might be the idea Warne has sold to him. Speculative for sure, but wouldn't be surprised if so.
