In the mid 80s when in the 3rd Division we beat 1st Division Leicester over 2 legs in the League Cup. The 2nd leg at Filbert St was amazing, packed away terrace and a Bobby Davison goal to clinch our path into the next round.

To be fair Cathy’s Clown is a great song

I doubt the starting 11 will change unless there’s any injuries. The interesting calls might be on the bench if a few more are available.

In a pub in Derby today and in my seat at Pride Park next Saturday. A win today clinches it for me 👍

If the automatic promotion picture is not settled by then, Sky will show Derby v Carlisle I’m sure. What about Cambridge v Derby? Has anyone watched a non Sky game in a Derby pub recently?

Waggy at Posh, great team goal and finish 👏

That 1968/69 tier 2 89 points equivalent from only 42 games was an amazing season, well over 2 points per game average. Decent manager then of course!

Is it a tiny bit harsh to suggest that Mel had had a couple of tinctures before his chat on the Pitch at HT?

The 12 months to February, so the last 2 transfer windows plus any extensions and out of contract players. This would include CBT.

This time of the season is about nerve more than anything else I think. At kick off everyone’s fine, then when we haven’t scored by half time the nerves take affect second half. Fortunately Wycombe didn’t score so we got a point. Tomorrow we need either to get a first half lead or have the least nervous players on second half. Two players I think could have an impact tomorrow are Waghorn, who’s done late season heroics before, and Fornah, who I expect will relish the situation given his lack of minutes recently. Cashin played well, especially going forward, Adams and Nelson were great as usual, Wildsmith made a strong save late doors, few others came out with much credit especially in the second half. I just hope we score first half! With a lead at half time I can see the players focusing on not conceding much more easily than trying to chase the game. The good news is our home results have picked up recently. I worry about Cambridge away but one game at a time…

I have a feeling CBT will get a goal in the last 4 games, he’s improved with each game recently, so could be him?

Clarke was a centre back on loan from Brighton, good player.

Agreed, Nelson and Cashin for me

Potential Championship players for me: Wildsmith, Nyambe, Wilson, Ward, Nelson, Cashin, Rooney, Adams, Mendez-Laing, Blackett-Taylor, Gayle.

I was there, great night, amazing atmosphere, wild celebrations 👍

I suspect it will be 433 leaving 3 decisions in my view with the same goalkeeper and back 4. The midfield 3 should be Adams, Smith and either Hourihane or Thompson. The 2 wide players should be Mendez-Laing and either Ward or Blackett-Taylor. The centre forward should be either Collins or Washington. I think Warne will go Hourihane, for his experience, Ward, as potentially better defensively and at crossing, and Collins, as the most likely goal threat. Tough on Blackett-Taylor maybe but he will likely feature as a substitute. Thompson probably didn’t do enough starting at Northampton and Washington probably didn’t do enough starting against Blackpool. I would take a point right now!
