  1. I still think his best performances in recent seasons have been at LB/LWB where he has time to see what’s ahead of him. There’s a role for him there, especially if we return to five at the back. Trouble is, we only then have five players ahead of that and we don’t have a midfield that scores goals. The squad balance is wrong for a 3-5-2.
  2. Suella beats the discipline into me.
  3. Yes I’m not denying the feelings of disappointment are real and valid. I’m there too. I guess I’m just saying without DC things could be a lot worse. Also, that our fans occasionally let disappointment become vitriol. That’s not why I’m a rams fan.
  4. We moan because our team is inconsistent. My mate supports Cheltenham and they’re consistently rubbish. We have it lucky compared to some. Not long ago we were praying for a club of any standard. My dream is a fanbase that’s more respectful of each other and other clubs. It’s of an atmosphere of celebration each week that we have a club we love. In my dream, Derby’s players are desperate to play for their manager and the rams badge. I hope it comes true.
  5. How long before we’re suggesting Aaron Lowe as a January signing? 😊
  6. Yes, apparently neither Derbyshire nor Yorkshire are particularly nice places to live 😊
  7. Looks like the Warne out army has deserted.
  8. Warne and his cones are staying. Working with Clowes on keeping his squad fit by working for free on DC’s building sites. Everybody’s ‘appy.
  9. Not sure if it’s been covered off elsewhere but did anyone get caught up in the skirmishes at the station? Barnsley and Derby fans started name calling and there was a bit of a surge with the police as usual caught up in the middle. The usual kids on artificial bravery substances but also a depressing number of blokes my age who should be setting an example.
  10. I’ll always remember the phew!
  11. I’d be tempted to play Barkhuisen through the middle. Force him into attacking positions and hope that he gets a goal to boost his confidence.

  13. I had a pretty good view of the penalty and I’m not one of those who only sees in black and white. To me and the others around me it was a stonewall penalty. The guy had his arms around Collins’ back and made no effort to head it. It’s the type of incident which should lead to more penalties because it is foul play designed to prevent an opponent from scoring. Far more of a ‘foul’ than the ridiculous handball rules. Agree with your other comments BTW!
  14. The first half hour was pretty unremarkable really and it looked as though a dour nil nil was on the cards. I thought the penalty was a pretty obvious push and always had faith in Collins to smash it. That really was the turning point. It gave Collins some confidence and he was a menace after that and the whole team seemed to react to Barnsley’s play acting by upping their own aggression. It was great to see us winning 50:50s and imposing ourselves on the opposition. Barnsley wilted under the pressure and Wilson’s introduction made us look more dangerous. Sure, the goals were scrappy and I hope yesterday’s win doesn’t mean we play long balls every week but I thoroughly enjoyed my day out. I thought Nelson and Cashin did an excellent job keeping Cole quiet. Hope Barkhuisen managed to sleep last night. He played well and should remember that bit. Isn’t it nice to reflect on a great performance?
  15. Should call it B4 Brilliant! Positive posts only.
  16. OMG that’s awful news. I thought it was unusual that he’s not been on here. My thoughts go to his family and friends. So, so sorry.
  17. Can’t see where the goals are going to come from today. Play it wide, whip it across to errr… Unfortunately, can’t see Collins getting any free headers today.
  18. First game I’ll be at in ages due to midweek football, rail strikes etc. Beautiful day. Looking forward to it enormously! COYR
  19. Difficult to imagine what that feels like for local residents. I wonder if amongst the fear and uncertainty there’s a slight awe at the power of nature? I can see at these times how such incidents are linked with a greater power being angry.
  20. Does that mean it’s going to be both football and industrial? At least gives some relevance to Jamie’s poem 😊
  21. I think there’s an argument for 3-5-2 at home with Nyambe, Nelson and Cashin as the three and Wilson/ Ward on the right and Sibley on the left. Away, we revert to the four with Forsyth left back Nyambe right. Wilson is exciting and can unlock defences at PP.
