  1. Whilst he might not be an inspirational signing (should this come to fruition), until he's in a Rams shirt I'd reserve judgement. McGoldrick wasn't a 20 goal a season striker until last his unprecedented performance for us 2022/23:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_McGoldrick

Strikers score goals in teams doing well and when they get good service. If he's been playing in struggling to middling sides for most of his career that has a major impact on his return. Either way its another option in the squad which we definitely need as it stands. I know very little about him as a footballer so I reserve judgement. He's clearly not going to be a signing for the future considering his age, so he's a squad player at best, and a known quantity to Warne and the coaching staff should this be completed.

  2. Next 2 games will be key. We will be 10 games in by then. Ideally both games need to be won as we are at home to Wycombe and Cheltenham.

If things don't improve and performances pickup then I think changes with the coaching team have to come into play (and doesn't necessarily mean to sack LR but to bring in an experienced head for some support). I would like to LR to succeed, he has to be given credit for bringing in these players and ultimately elevating people's expectations because of the calibre of these players. I also agree we have to take into account what we've been through as a club, and be thankful that we survived, but like everyone else it's inevitable we want success..... We are Derby County ?

Tactical changes are clearly needed as the shape sounded off tonight, and I was listening to BBC Radio Lincoln commentary due to my location. Obviously they agreed with the penalty award and offside decisions on our goals, but also pointed out the passages of play where we controlled the ball for periods but with no end product. Cashin was singled out as having a stinker by the commentators. Always interesting to get another perspective.

Maybe take stock again after the next couple of games, sometimes a bit of patience can bare fruit (he says crossing his fingers).

  3. On the point made about him getting injured again or being totally crocked, you’d hope and even expect the club have insurance on him as an asset should the worse happen?

It begs the question with him getting injured previously was there a payout/s in terms of insurance to cover his wages? I’m sure the more enlightened amongst us can elaborate how this works in terms of protecting your football assets (i.e the players)

  4. As others have said, Birmingham of all clubs is just bizarre!

It sticks in the throat a bit as well considering the club have stood by him in terms of the long rehabilitation (more than once) to get him back fit to play. Add to that we've had very little in return on the investment.

I wish him well as a player, but I hope Brum get absolutely spanked every week, hateful football team. Having had to work in Birmingham frequently over the last 9 years I can honestly say that off all the clubs supporters I've had to endure (from that area) they are by far the worst.

More importantly it's imperative that we only have players in that dressing room that want to pull on a Rams shirt and commit, so all the dissenters and malcontents need to be gone. This is the big reset the clubs needed for a few years.
