Well you could argue that it was Mel who gave him an over inflated contract at the time that we’re now not willing to match. With such big earners in the squad at the time and Sibleys electric burst onto the scene the numbers probably seemed justified. Circumstances have vastly changed since and he was likely one of the highest earners at the club last season.

Is it possible that we’ve offered Sibley a deal just to protect his value at a tribunal?

Interestingly the Hull City owner has just been on Talksport saying he didn’t feel Liam’s style of football would bring success long term and he wants to bring a more attacking, exciting style of play to the team next season.

I hope the powers that be noticed the markedly improved atmosphere in the east stand yesterday. It’s a real shame they chose to shut down the atmosphere in there by restricting ticket sales and being extremely heavy handed with the residents in those blocks. the atmosphere in that area grew organically over a few years yet was decimated at the beginning of the season due to a few complaints. IMO it can only help having multiple noisy sections in the ground to bounce off each other, no doubt itl be back to normal in a few weeks time.

Not only this but the fact he’s available for every game despite being in the twilight of his career. He obviously really looks after himself off the pitch which is ironic seeing as I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve seen people say he’s overweight.

Interestingly Derby are saying it was Rochdale who chose to end his loan early.

He would be taking the place of Embleton in theory though, so I could certainly see this happening.
