t'oldu
The man who holds the purse strings MUST have seen where our problem lies yesterday. Will he NOW release the money for a natural striker??
Mr Tibbs
No. He saw a decent performance where we were unlucky to win, so no real need for investment on yesterday's showing.
McRamFan
Though Glick has stated that we need to find the back of the net more on a recent interview.

Ambitious
Tibbs has a point, at the minute the only places we need to invest are outwide and at left back... Robinson 22 SDavies 24 Maguire 23 Ball 19 Bennett 15 Thomas 17 That to me seems we have a handful of strikers (natural) we could work with to get the best out of them, Maguire needs to be worked with, ******** about being home sick he can do it further south for portsmouth, he just needs to be given a realistic goal... they all need to be worked with, and we'll get plenty of goals out of that. Left back, we have one.. Roberts. outwide, we need a right sided player... this is priority for me. also a centre midfielder. then a striker, but definitely not priority especially when we have players who could be that striker we are crying out for, with just a little bit of grooming. smiffy
We have to do at least one of two things, score more or concede less, preferably both, simple kkk.
Donny Ram
Now that Appelby / Glick have stated there's no need for a Director of Football and they won't be recruiting one, as Clough is doing a great job, maybe we could take the £100k per year plus perks saving and add that to the striker transfer kitty - just a thought and very unlikely to happen..!! Butthead
thank god they've dropped this Director of Football nonsence. is there any example out there of a DoF worth their salary?? it also snubs the manager, we don't want to lose Nige like we lost Burley..... jagerbob
As far as a DoF or General Manager goes, It works in other sports. Notably in the US and Europe. But that is where there is a firm infrastructure at the club already in place. For a club to decide to go down that route, when you have a manager who sees part of his job is being undermined, then thats only going to end in a manager leaving. Leicester Ram
I think we need to get to the core of this issue. its really biting away at me. We should sign that Micheal Jacobs, he would be quite a copella

Nicky Hammond has worked really well at Reading, been DoF there for the best part of the last 10 years. Several managers, two promotions and a steady stream of young players being developed through the club - some sold for vast profits.
