Leeds Ram
How many times have you seem him play kidda??? me? I have seen him play twice, however I am making my judgement not on my viewing of which I haven't seen him play enough to make a judgement but on his record at forest, 2 goals in 2 seasons even in league 1 he wasn't brilliant managed 1 in 3, and constant injuries(of which he has one here) on that basis i don't think he will be a good signing and thus far we have played almost half the season and has played 24minutes. Mary Hindge
Meh Stats can be changed however which way to make a point imo, dont get me wrong anybody would find it hard to defend tysons "stats" I would go with he was played on the right at Florest but this argument has been done to death, again cant argue with the fact he has only played 24 mins but cant see why that is anyones fault happened in a game no one knew this before we signed him!!! Think he will come good last 1/4 of the season well I hope he does think he will add a extra threat down the centre he has got more ability than Robinson (i rate Robinson) and he has had a good season thus far. Hucknall Ram
again though only 3 or 4, when were they? who were the opposition? how can you judge after 3 or 4 games? to me it takes longer than that to judge a player. this can't be the same YR? The boy who wrote Bueno off even before he kicked a ball for Derby.
CumbrianRam
NorthernRam is spot on.. Jake Buxton is a below average/poor player for League 1 level let alone the NPC Goes to show how low expectations have gone when he becomes a valuable part of our squad. He wouldn't make the matchday squad of any other team at this level, so why would we want to keep him? Are we planning for League 1? Get rid of the donkey He wouldn't get into the Carlisle United team that's for sure.
ramesses
He wouldn't get into the Carlisle United team that's for sure. That’s pretty obvious isn't it. If he was good enough for Carlisle then he wouldn’t be happy being a cheap and cheerful, fourth or fifth choice, CB for Derby would he?
Bris Vegas
But a 4th or 5th choice CB who is always injured is still costing us money.. It maybe relatively cheap (ie $500 a week) but that's $500 a week too many and can be put towards another player who will actually be a useful addition to the squad I'd muc rather see that 5th choice position go to someone in th academy, someone that might just have a future with DCFC. Jake Buxton doesn't, he's a pointless player now. Forget his past now and look at what contribution he can make now at DCFC..He's only denting our wage bill, nothing more. Get rid. I’d rather see the third choice CB spot go to OB and the fourth choice being open to any youngster showing promise. Of course, you can take the risk with a youngster because reliable, safety-first Buxton will be sitting on the bench in case things go wrong. There’s nothing wrong with either Buxton or how he’s used by Clough. His good qualities and his limitations have already been summarised in this thread. As I said on page 2 – Buxton’s recovered from injury now and unless we can get better defensive cover for the same money (or less) then I can’t see it makes much sense to get rid of him. NothernRam
I don't think we have many young centre backs to choose from. It's first year pro Chris Jones, 2nd year scholar Stefan Galinski and 1st year Josh Lelan. Any chances they are good enough to be 5th or 6th choice on this position? After Shaun Barker, Jason Shackell, Mark O'Brien and Tom Naylor. Guest
There is also Miles to come back, who even if carrying a bit of timber still has more quality in his left toe than Buxton, although that doesnt say a lot 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Buxton is a waste of space IMO, and if he cant get in the Carisle team he should be nowhere near ours, we dont need cheap and cheerful chappys, we need quality in depth, unless we are happy at mid table in this league for the next twenty years....oh wait.. NothernRam
Good shout, LR. I totally forgot about Miles. Still have some faith he will come back to good. Just needs a full injury free pre-season next summer.

I’m not that optimistic about Addison. But fingers crossed. Of course we need quality in depth - but we don’t have it. Which is why basic, cheap, reliable cover like Buxton is needed. We’re probably going to finish mid table (ish) this season. I said that at the start of the season and I still think that. To improve significantly we need owners who want to invest a bit more in the squad to make us genuinely competitive and provide the depth to the squad that is sufficient to get us out of this division – but we don’t have owners like that and that really doesn’t make me happy.
