StaffsRam
The benefits of living in a predominantly pensioner area - we hardly see any trick or treaters. Plus we always make sure we go out for a meal between 6-8. Anyone coming after that is too old and therefore gets nothing. Sorted.
DcFc Dyycheee
I hate seeing young kids on the streets begging, I hate having my door bashed in by 16-18 year old scumbags begging. If that makes me a miserable git then so be it. Didn't it used to be a 2 hour time frame that it was done in as well? not anymore, it will go on until 11pm ish as usual. When 5-10 year olds go round with their parents im sure thats okay, but when you see 5+ years go around in the dark and "begging" thats when it come out of order, when im older and hopefully have children i will let them go trick or treating, but obviously i will have to go with them, for your exact reason Daveo, theres lots of gangs ect.. out hanging round the streets. But good point 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
lyndsey
My kids dont go Alex and Ry are too old in my eyes and Amy got dressed up and went to a play centre where they had a party and disco. him in doors has the same views as Daveo on trick or treating so even if they wanted to he wouldn't let them. GboroRam
At our place it seems to be that, if you put a pumpkin on your doorstep, it's a sign that you're OK with trick or treaters. No pumpkin, they leave you alone. Works well. Don't mind it meself, but forgot to bother with a pumpkin so not been bothered by 'em.

uttoxram75
My missus and daughter took my 4 year old granddaughter trick and treating - but only to family and close friends houses. I still told them its devil worship and they'll all go to hell in a basket.
Pudding Jack
i dont know why people are getting in a mard over it.... you could argue about bonfire night 'mekkin kiddies blind' and christmas 'mekkin people buy loads of sh*te thet dont need and cant afford'...or easter...or valentines day. its just a few hours in a year. i stopped around 10 i reckon...got some fair old haul in before that....some would give you pennys...some would give you sweets....some would try with fruit....(they got the windows put through)
uttoxram75
Bonfire nights brilliant. Its good that we celebrate terrorists trying to blow up Parliament. Anyway, poor owd Guy Fawkes has finally been vindicated. They've just changed the rules about the monarch marrying a catholic.
Bris Vegas
Halloween is pointless.. How is it fun to dress up as a pumpkin and beg for sweets? Better you just save yourself the money you wasted on the costume and get yourself down to the Asda smartprice sweet centre and buy them yourself.. 1. You'll save money 2. You can eat your sweets infront of the telly with your mates or whatever 3. You won't freeze your balls off trying to convince a couple of 70 year olds to give away their last digestive biscuits
Alex W
Plus the English pumpkins are far inferior to those you might find in Spain or lets say, Mexico. If they were to be placed in a competition the English pumpkins would be proved pretty redundant and very over-rated, eh Bris. Martyn
i agree with Daveo and a previous poster who's name i cant remember saying it's american rubbish and it should be banned immediately Agree, next they'll be having bluddy Proms when they leave school! But actually, we did have a Halloween party this year, but we're Satanists so it's all part of the fun.

I think most kids being kids find it good fun, you'd have to be a pretty dull child to think i would rather go to a supermarket and buy them rather than getting dressed up and having fun 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
