Nottingham Forest striker Ishmael Miller has been fined £2,500 by the Football Association for comments he made on a social networking site.

Miller used Twitter to post an angry response to fans that criticised his performance in a 1-0 defeat to Coventry on 15th October.

The 24-year-old later apologised for his outburst, but his remarks did not escape the attention of the FA.

As a result, he was charged with improper conduct/bringing the game into disrepute by English football's governing body.

An FA statement read: "Nottingham Forest's Ishmael Miller has been warned as to his future conduct and fined £2,500 for comments he made on Twitter.

"Miller had admitted the charge of improper conduct/bringing the game into disrepute for making comments on the social networking service."

Sanction

While he has been punished by the FA, Miller has escaped sanction from Forest boss Steve Cotterill.

He vowed upon his appointment at the City Ground to fine players £1,000 per word for any comments they made on Twitter relating to club matters.

Cotterill has not taken any action on this occasion because the incident in question occurred prior to his arrival on Trentside.

'Honeymoon Period'

When Clough came in we won something like 5 on the bounce..

They've only conceded 2 in 4 and picked up 9 points.. Not too bad at all, midtable beckons for them IMO.. Though given how no-one other than Boro and Southampton want to cement themselves in the top 6 could they do it?

formation on sky sports, still a bit negative that can't be argued but seems to be working.

Yeah 4-4-2 is well negative these days 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Cant argue with 3 wins out of 4 against sides who are flying atm and only defeat was to a team also flying before tonight

To be honest we don't really have anybody else to play there so I wouldn't call it negative...Things are looking up now that **** mclown has left!

Beating Boro was a really good result.. Blackpool aren't flying, in fact I think they're massively underachieving and are in the bottom half.. Reading too haven't won in 6 and have been drawing alot recently, also only scored 15 in 15 games.. Again, they're massively underachieving and are lower midtable.. 3 home games from 4..

Hull are just a horrible club who grind out 1-0 wins all the time..

Like us your big task is task is to do it away from home.. You were terrible at Donny and Watford and somehow won just like we did.. It'd be interesting how Steve Cotterill sets you up away from home, his away record with Pompey was a shambles.

Didn't clough lose his first match in charge?

Man Utd away? Were you expecting a win?

I remember a run which included 2 wins at the city ground, a 3-0 win away at Plymouth and a couple of home wins.. People got excited that we'd make the playoffs, just like them lot now.
