To be fair, they're better than recent years. There's always some games which will inevitably be a bit of a distance on a weeknight. Of the 4 you mentioned Reading ain't even that far and Leeds is a bank holiday Monday. 2 badly scheduled games out of 23 really isn't that bad.

Really don't understand why they don't have regional weeknight games.. Surely if you take into account location you have:

South Coast/South London: Brighton, Soton, Pompey, Palace, Millwall, West Ham

West of London/Wales: Cardiff, Bristol City, Reading

North of London/Midlands: Watford, Forest, Leicester, Derby, Brum, Coventry

East Anglia: Ipswich, P'Boro

Lancashire: Blackpool, Burnley

Yorkshire/North: Barnsley, Hull, Leeds, Boro, Donny

If you imagine 5-7 weeknight games a season why not group them to improve attendances? The Midlands, South Coast and Yorkshire take up the bulk.. But I'm sure it won't be disastrous for a West Midlands club ie. Brum or Perhaps Coventry to join in with The West of London teams..

Nor would it be disastrous if The Lancashire clubs join in with the yorkshire clubs..

The only ones that'll suffer is Ipswich and P'Boro, but it's only 2 hours or so to the Midlands or London from there.

Would be a big benefit to all involved.

The problem is a lot of those are considered rivalries and the police probably wouldn't accept it.

Millwall v West Ham

Soton v Pompey

Forest/Derby/Leicester v Forest/Derby/Leicester

etc etc

Good idea Bris. The only problem is that it would require some one at the top level of the game actually giving a flying **** about the fans.
