Nottingham Forest have pulled off a sensational loan deadline day deal - by signing Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh international has joined The Reds on an emergency loan until January 3 and will be eligible to play in eight npower Championship games.

The classy midfielder is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in the Premier League.

He has made more than 50 appearances for Arsenal and has recently returned to action after a nine-month lay-off with a broken leg.

Ramsey launched his career with Cardiff, where he was a team-mate of Chris Gunter and at the age of just 16 years and 124 days became their youngest ever player.

He made just 21 first team appearances for the South Wales club before moving to Arsenal in the summer of 2008.

He has been capped 11 times by his country.

Fantastic signing, but only IF they can renew the deal after January.

He's going to be a shadow of the Ramsey he was before, he'll be very rusty. If they can renew the deal after a few months though he'll be getting back to his best so he'll be brilliant for them at that point.

Should be fit by the time they play us :(

Not fully fit though, Eduardo has taken a long long time to get over his injury, remember what Barazite was like after he hurt his shoulder? He used to shirk tackles, and his injury wasn't that bad.

Players are all different, but Ramsey isn't going to be very good for a while. He'll be ok, but he'll have a few months of avergae performances before he gets back to his best.

Hasn't played for 9 months, won't be anywhere near fully fit by time he goes back. Strange signing, wasn't Billy saying that if they loan players in they need to be quality and fit. Ramsey is certainly quality but his fitness?

Also two of thier best players (McGugan and the Polish lad) play in Ramsey's position.

I do find it a very strange signning on Arsenals part, if I had a young talent that's coming back from a injury like that, I would want him to do it my way, not some other club, who may not care as much.

Yeah, Wenger takes pride in the development of his youngsters. Surely a young prospect like Ramsey coming back for the first time in the better part of a year from a broken leg is in serious need of the best possible people around him.

Forest are going to obviously use him to serve them. Anyone would. They don't need to care about his long term future.

Sounds mad.

Doesn't he play a similar role mcgugan. There are rumours on the bbc gossip page that fullham and another premiership team are interested after his recent improved form. Imagine if he was sold under Billy's nose. That would tip him further over the edge.

Don't see them extending the loan, wenger will want him match fit without risking his team having to carry an unfit player, makes him ready to go straight into the side for the second half of the season. Clever move, don't see forest abusing it as any club would want good relations with arsenal as they often loan young players out and if they look after him they may get a replacement.

Alex. You're a tool!

He was alright! He'd never played in the Championship before, and kept attacking everytime he had the ball in a poor team. Often he was attacking on his own.

He would be a good player to have back here in Jan on loan, a good player to bring off of the bench.
