Can't see us getting to the follow on target so just get as many as possible in the first innings. I didn't see any of the first 5 wickets so cant comment on that other than batting looked fairly simple with the old ball, so if the top order could refrain from collapsing in a heap in the second innings that would be nice. Sussex overseas players = Daniel Hughes 144 runs and Jaydev Unadkat 3-31 and superb with the new ball. Derbyshire overseas = Dupavillion 3-107 eventually but went around the park with the new ball. We saw with Masood how one quality overseas player can raise the team. Two would be a dream. As for this game, going out to bat after a day and a half in the field is never easy, and sending the wicketkeeper out in the second over is madness. I'd really like to see Guest go down the order…though he could have been at 7 and he wouldn't have got much rest today. We are at the at least put up a fight in defeat lads stage already, and all fingers have to point at the crazy decision to bowl first. jimbo jones Posted September 1 Share Posted September 1 Credit goes to Madsen (both innings) and Came (second innings), also Dal who was going well until he pulled his groin, by the look of him in the second innings where he had Guest as a runner, that will be his season done. Other than that it was disappointing and confounded the absolutely disastrous decision to bowl first. We visit Northants next in what is likely to be the “wooden spoon” decider. Doesn't make sense to withdraw him to carry drinks. Martin Andersson is finally in on loan, and Jack Morley is also staying until the end of the season.
