Leeds Ram Posted August 30, 2010 Share Posted August 30, 2010 varney very often was played out on the wing when he was with us which doesn't lead to scoring opportunities, to score 9 goals in 6 months at a side which was struggling isn't too bad, he had to have time to settle in ect, he is a good player, at cardiff he set up a goal and was a constant nuscence to the defence. Varney has gone, was he given a fair chance? no he wasn't, would he of scored more goals if given a chance? who knows and we'l never know. It doesn't matter how many goals he scored for Charlton or Wednesday, they play different tactics, different formations and have different players.
