I agree but id like to see a 3-1-3-1-2 formation.

It's all about the versatility, great players can player anywhere in any formation. However would need a good Veggie in net, any recommendations?

Keeper

Attacking FB - CB who can carry - CB who can spray - More reserved FB

DM, bare minimum that they can defend and keep it ticking

Player to link the channel - Midfield runner

Linking CF

One something from nothing winger, one winger who will link, one old-school winger and a converted striker to make runs from wide

Twelve players, four of them wingers. A very unusual team, but interesting to watch.

From the amount of low end PL teams who don't bounce right back, I think it's safe to assume a lazy low end pl players answer isn't the catch all.

I'd suggest you could go several ways.

Solid unspectacular hard workers in a grind out machine, a simply too squad (still needs the right manager), or, a mixture of talented up and comers, some consistent pros, one or two genuine top flight quality players and the old head or two (or 12 if you're Rowett) around the squad.
