Why?

He's a bookie, and needs to recuperate some of his Leicester losses?

Roberto Martinez wanted by Derby for managerial vacancy – just weeks after Everton axe

Derby County are compiling a short-list for the vacant manager’s job – and Roberto Martinez ’s name is on it.

The Rams will give interim boss Darren Wassell the chance at interview but the sacked Everton chief is one of the men in the frame.

Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is another candidate – his chances of assuming control at Aston Villa have diminished following the takeover by a Chinese consortium this week – as revealed a fortnight ago in Sunday People Sport.

And the other man who will have a chance to impress the interview panel will need permission from his employers – which is unlikely to be forthcoming.

Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett makes up the quartet who will come under the scrutiny of owner Mel Morris, chief executive Sam Rush and advisor Harry Redknapp.

Be an absolutely fantastic appointment. People might remember him in a negitive light after last season but don't forget he regarded as one of the best young managers in the world before hand, and was even touted for the Madrid/Arsenal manager. Getting a gig like Everton is some accolade also
