Vincent Tan: Cardiff owner demands players to 'shoot more'

"In every match I want to see 30 or 40 attempts on goal."

"Just shoot from 25, 30 yards, I told the players. What's the point of passing, passing, passing and hoping to get in the box that way," Tan said.

Or be like the USA when they had the World Cup; campaigned to make the posts wider so there would be more goals.

It's the Cardiff Way

Has he said this about shooting more before? It sounds familiar.

I like Attacker Tan. All her songs are good but I Feel For You was career defining.

Genius!  Maybe Mr Morris should ask if he's got any coaching badges...

It's Malaysia way.

Damn you. Got that going around my head now for the last hour.

He wasn't happy with David Marshall for not scoring any goals one season.

He also dislikes anyone whose birthday doesn't include an 8

He's bought into the Paul Ince doctrine. Anyone got that famous photo of Inces clipboard in hand on the touchline at Blackburn?

Any difference between this and sacking a manager for not playing with a style. You did call this a weird thing.

Sure, the MM-PC is a business decision based on a difference in philosophy (process and end goals) between the owner and the coach (happens very often in other forms of business also). Tan's is an obvious lack of knowledge of football in general, although I'd like Cardiff to shoot on sight from 40 yards when they play against us.
