I currently have a 2004 Focus C-Max. The main thing I like about it is that; I'm over 6ft tall and still feel like I have enough room to swing a cat. Knee to steering wheel clearance whilst getting in & out is important to me. I also have toddlers in car seats, so I need 5 doors / decent rear seat room.

Ideally I want something smaller overall, but not where it matters (see above) & more comfortable. Petrol preferred because diesel is toss & carcinogenic. I've been looking at Hyundai IX20's, does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd be buying used, up to 5yr old, preferably less than £7k but might stretch up to absolute max £10k for the right beast.

  • Maybe you should sell one?

  • VW Golf turbo diesel, convertible, just got it last month, should last me the next 10-15 years, invest in a golf trekkie they go forever.

  • Drive my parents 2011 Focus, Diesel. Super comfy even for me at over 6ft, would reccomend. If I were to be buying a car tomorrow would probably be Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce.

Another Focus driver here.

Best car I've ever owned.

Ours is a diesel but still has the acceleration to get up to the speed limit and go no further ever

have you thought of the Dacia range of cars, its a Renault all but badge, try the 1.5dci which is a decent engine.

No way. My watches will keep their value and the car would be worth nothing in a decade or two.

One thing Trekkie and I have in common (as well as Ford Focuses of course) both our avatars passed away this year!:(

I changed mine as a mark of respect. I believe yours is old.

i haven't ruled out a focus, I just fancy something different.

Ford yes, but Mondeo. And old enough so I can repair it myself.
