Can fans views be a detriment to the team

Just putting it out there.

We all have our ideas but does this put pressure on our Manager !

Fans don't see the team train .

People calling for Coutts in holding role against Forest is that daft.

People calling for change of system against Forest to accommodate Bent is that daft.

Etc etc

He must be affected by some of it I'm sure !

I really believe he will have faith in his own judgement and take notice of what the rest of the coaching staff and even the players say before thinking about what the fans say or think.

That's not to say that he doesn't have a peek on here occasionally and think to himself, You know what that B4 really is such an inspiration character and i will get him in to give a team talk.

I remember when we was playing 8-1-1 under Clough when we was 3-0 down. To be fair when we called for 4-4-2 he changed it to 9-1-0. God bless them days.

In all seriousness we're all managers. We do influence games in the past when we was playing negative and we was calling for a change in formation or a fan favourite on the bench and the fans will be calling his name to change the outcome in hope.

Plenty of times they listen to the fans 99.9% of the time the change does not turn out as the fans wanted thoe...!

Correct we all think we know best and it's not necessarily a good thing for Managers.

I doubt it - only a weak manager would be affected by nonsense from the crowd - and as far as people posting on message boards are concerned, not a snowball's chance in hell.

A chairman preoccupied with his own popularity, on the other hand

Bet he couldn't even tell you the name of any football messageboard.

Has Coutts ever played a defensive role? Not sure why we can't just use one of the players who specialise in that position?

The only thing that bothers the team is the backing at the game and people abusing them or massaging their egos on their personal twitter accounts.

The fans view has certainly been detremental to Forest.

Because, once, when the money involved was less colossal, a genius took them to the pinacle of European football  They believe that that is their normal place. Rather than understanding that such success for a  club of that staure was almost unique then and actually impossible now, they demand that their owners and managers strive to match it, and get angry when they inevitably fail.

Do you think your views would effect Steve and the team Curtains? Omar v Eustace?

I think it would be daft to think some of the things said on forums and Twitter don't get around the team bus. I know if I knew people were talking about me I'd be looking.

Look at Rammyboys embarrassing attention seeking thread on Bryson not long back and the reaction it got.

These are young men and will certainly be effected by fans opinions, how great must it be being Johnny Russell on Twitter right now? The feeling of the fans loving you to bits, how motivating that must be?

Then you have Conor Sammon who had to close his account, if it didn't effect him why close his account?

You do have to question some "supporters".

Managers however have been around a lot longer, will be used to the critism, water off a ducks back.

If I ever heard that Steve made one tactical move based on what he read on a forum I would want him to leave.

Good post .

Serious question can you see Steve changing the system to 4-4-2 for the Forest game to accommodate Bent.

That was some people's views on RD last night and they do have a large audience.

Also Coutts in the DM was a view.

If we win I'd be happy but should Steve stick with tried and tested or change !

Would never read any of it if I was a player. I certainly wouldn't have twitter.

"Retweet me, it's my cats birthday"

"Why do you want more money"

"Pleeaaase don't leave."

"You're awful. The worst player I have ever seen"

"Hope you die"

Just don't need any of it. What for?

Not just this site .

On RD last night some fans thought 4-4-2 would be the way to go with Bent and Martin up top.

They have a big audience in Derby.

Using Coutts in the holding role was another view along with other views which was stick with Mascarell.

It was very fair last night and had a spectrum of views from fans bringing 2 fans on at a time to argue the case.

Derby fans have many many views on team selection it's very clear.

It's tough being a Manager with this seasons expectations.

Up the Rams.

Do you think that a coach that has over 20 years experience would be influenced by a few slack jawed locals?
