Well we do have some in our support who will vote on ignorant grounds.

But we also have support that are a bit more mature than that and will vote what they believe is best for Scotland or the UK.

Sorry , can't get the quote button to work.

For what it's worth, I obviously want Scotland to stay in the UK. But keep it out of football.

If you really care about making your point heard, you wouldn't bother with Derby anyway. Go to London if you want to be heard and don't take it to a game of football. Nobody will be listening in Derby, we're not a big city...

Tombo...Noticed a lot of derby fans labelling all the Rangers support as bigoted in some way or another...Is that not political too ?

They are just as wrong to make this political. I'm not interested in finger pointing, I'm interested in making football about football, not about a particular set of fans' political agenda.

Yeah I am voting SNP.

Fair play mate. I wasn't trying to elicit your personal vote. I am genuinely interested in the Scottish Independence vote. I get the iimpression that people will vote based on their views of Northern Ireland rather than what's best for Scotland.

I have no idea what's best for Scotland btw....i really don't know which way i'd vote if i lived up the road.

Do you think it's just fitba fans that are voting ffs.

I know people that are knocking doors every day to try and get people to vote no.

You are very ignorant if you think it's got anything to do with football or as you put it there views of northern Ireland.

My best friend is voting yes, supported rangers all his life he thinks we will be better off,had many a arguement with the bassa.

Derby County Football Club

V

Glasgow Rangers Politics and a tiny bit of football Club.

Thank God or Allah or Science or whatever Rangers wave flags for that we don't have to play either Celtic or Rangers often.

It's football lads. A game. Enjoy it.

Derby games and rivalries run perfectly fine without any of this ******.

So, are the vast majority of Rangers fans going to vote the same way or don't you want to answer that.

My point is, if Scotland vote say 60-40 in favour of No, would the split amongst Rangers fans be similar?

I am, having been to see us at Matlock, Nuneaton and Burton (I was on holiday for the Mickleover and Notts County games) - and I shall be at the Rangers game. I'm only sorry to say that work commitments wouldn't allow us to head over to Austria.

(OK, I'm sad and have no life)

Tbf I went to burton, didn't intend to but the kids pressured me into it, it was a pleasant evening but the game was just half hearted. I always liked the idea of going to pre season games but then regret it as soon as I'm there! I've got a lot better in recent years at listening to my head rather than heart. It's not particularly cheap either these days taking kids along, I'm not sure 27 quid on Tuesday night for a bit of a kick about represented value for money.

You could say the same about the "I voted for Labour because my family have always voted that way" crowd though.

I have been almost completely disenfranchised.

A socialist by birth

A communist in my youth

A staunch liberal in my early adult life

There is no longer a Labour Party or a Liberal Party except in name only, so for a couple of general elections I voted Green. Then they stopped fielding a candidate in my constituency.

I hope that I can rely on the Monster Raving Loony Party fielding a candidate next time - at least their policies are more sensible than the 'main' parties.

Thing is back in the day.... The Loonies advocated a policy or two that has become normal now.... They were the first to call for advertising on radio.

However I've still not seen a 99p coin yet

Gers fans, is August 2nd a significant date at all? If it is I could well imagine that DCFC thought to try to recognise that and do something for it because the owners are keen on that aspect of "the show". <I can't in a million years imagine them doing anything as tacit approval or comment on NI or sectarianism>

As for the indi ref, from my point of view a lot of the yes side is based on "things are pretty rough and have been for most for a long time, perhaps this'll change it" whilst a lot of the no is about being afraid for your job and pension.

There's a certain romance to the independence I see, but perhaps also for some a sense of tradition for the pro unionists. I've worked with the odd Rangers fan, met the odd Celtic fan. By and large, all good football minded people.

as for the match, i got the impression we were mostly pals after the last time Rangers came down, it's pre-season, so no one's going too wound up and I'd back Rangers to come and put more heart into it than say a low prem team - which might actually be good for us looking towards the season's start.
