ElBeef
Not only today but why is it we dont have anyone who can put the ball on the penalty spot. Its drove me crackers all season. Its something we really do need to work on, we would have put the match to bed by the time they scored. Every corner we take never clears the near post? Mr. P
We had about 14 corners & they were all rubbish. It got to the point where I preferred a throw-in!
Guest
Been a prob all season. Bryson, hughes, russell and hendrick. Thorne took they best one with virtually the last kick of the game! Towards the end of the season we were actually taking short corners at every opp to accomodate it. Needs addressing in the summer bigtime. Not suprising keogh and bucko got about 3 goals between them this season.
Cisse
Would be nice if our corners would be a real threat. Haven't expected us to score from them for ages.

Mark 74
not just corners! We struggled to clear the first man time after time with our crossing.
TigerTedd
Set plays in general are not great. I think we've improved slightly at free kicks, but it's not good. Really annoyed me to turn on the champions league final on the 92nd minute and see Real stick in the equaliser from a corner. 14 flipping corners!! Law of averages says we should have scored from one of those. And yet, we were still top scorers. Imagine how many we'd have scored if we could put away a few more corners, free kicks and penalties. Either we but a dead ball specialist in the summer (but I don't necessarily want us to buy anyone), or we get someone working on dead balls like there's nothing else in the world. m5912
Our team and style create a lot of corners and free kicks on the edge of the box. We need someone who can punish teams. Otherwise they will keep chopping us down or putting it out for a corner.
Uptherams
I do hope we can bring in a a couple of set piece coaches, if only temporary.
Smalley Ram
Absolutely agree we need a dead ball specialist, either buy one or develop one.
loughboroughRAM
in terms of dead balls and free kicks in particular, why - after scoring an inch perfect free kick last minute vs bournemouth - has martin not taken one since!? he never even tries to take it he just leaves it to ward and russell to tit around with it, inevitably hitting the wall or the fans!? the only positive of wards 'hit it hard and hope for deflection' policy is that we get a corner...but then we go and bugger those up too!!! To be fair ward nearly bundled one through the wall yesterday and if it wasnt for 'concrete' Dunne it probably would have gone in.
Hongdo
I can never understand why a player who is allegedly good enough to make a fantastic living out of playing football, is unable to beat the first defender from a set-piece. Derby were embarrassing in this respect, yesterday.
CheltenhamRam
Meh, agreed and needs work, but we've been hammering them in elsewhere...

Ha, obviously not a pro footballer but several things spring to mind such as the quality required/expected on the delivery (low, fast, into a reasonably small area, from a dead ball etc.). A bit like the variance most wingers experience trying to cross the ball running at pace. ElBeef
We have to sort this for next season. If we are to go up automatically we need to increase our goal average from dead ball situations. Theres a couple of these players coming up to the championship we could nick, a lad called Pringle or ive heard that Jacobs from Wolves is not too bad!!!! Seriously though do we need Ward or is all his huff and puff actually produce enough when it comes to that final ball?
Gary Teale
Maybe we will keep the dead ball "specialist" Ben Davies

Dimmu
There's a lad at celtic that's thinking of leaving. Never fancied Lennon taking corners. But maybe straight replacement for Thorne?
