McRamFan
Its not really an attraction, its mainly commercial buildings, it is surrounded by Park Lane, Piccadilly, Regent Street and Oxford Street. Go East 500m and you will find Carnaby, Leicester Sq and Covent Garden, far more enjoyable
Boycie
I was impressed by Covent garden at Xmas.

McRamFan
Don't stay in the centre, try outside in the burbs. Try Ealing, Angel, Kentish Town, find one with in a short walk of a tube
Boycie
I concur. I stopped in the holiday inn express in walthamsow. £53 a night inc buffet breakfast.
uttoxram75
Travelodge in Covent Garden is around £100 a room per night with breakfast. 5 minute walk to British Museum, Oxford Street, 10 minutes to Trafalgar Square, at least 3 Tube stations nearby, handy for Soho so you won't need Brighton...... Srg
Anywhere within first couple of zones and near a tube stop. And you're golden.
Cisse
Thanks for the tips everyone. Got the plane tickets and hotel today. The hotel is in Ealing and as I understand the sub makes it easy enough to travel to city center.
McRamFan
If you go from Ealing Broadway there is also the train that gets you to Paddington in 5 - 10 minutes. The Main tube is Central and I expect you will use that the most. There are 3 other tube stations North, South and Ealing Common. Also Ealing is packed with resturants and are of an excellent standard, so you don't have to go to the centre for food. Let me know what hotel you are at and I'll give you more details (I lived in Ealing for 12 years).

I always take abroad something less valuable for my wrist.

Cisse
...an elastic band? Depends on the country. And the city. I wear an elastic band only in Russia and Nottingham.

McRamFan
I was talking today with the mate of mine with whom I'm going to London. We have started to consider making a day trip to Brighton. Anything worthwhile seeing there ? It has a pebble beach, a pier and a few good resturants. Bit over rated and over priced.
