I like Warne as a person, can see why he was hired and why Clowes likes working with him.

It's clear he's a good bloke in general. I imagine he would probably make a better no.2 or first team coach. Great to have in the building. But clearly not cut out to be the main man to strategise a football club at a high level.

  2. Perhaps the decision to sign Warne to a 4 year deal last year may become a bad decision in hindsight.

But, you can see from his point of view the rationale at the time, it made more sense to bring in some experience given the position we were in and a lengthy contract was probably required to establish that.

Equally, this could be a blip and Warne stays though the contract and beyond...👀

I think it's important to remember too that it was never his intention to go into football ownership and his bid was at the 11th hour. His history is in property development and I expect that not all of his skills, knowledge etc. will seamlessly merge over.

He’s literally the only player we have with pace. He needs to play.

I agree he needs to play. But he's clearly much better suited to RW, which it seems Warne doesn't want to use. RWB seemed to leave him caught at both ends last year.

  4. There will be high expectations on the team in the coming year and fans will perhaps become disgruntled if we aren't battling for the playoff positions. I think they're being wise by being deliberately vague.

Having said that, I think Liam will do well. I think we are a better option for him despite our conditions compared to Blackpool.

Set the draft for this Sunday.

    12hr pick clock.

Pick clock paused between 5am and 2pm as @GeneralRam is in a different time zone. Can still pick but the clock is just paused.

Is there a link to this David?

Yep, there were some dearer, but in the area where away fans go, it was £70, I think.

I thought there was an upper limit on what they charged away fans?

Yes capped at £30 for the next 3 seasons in the PL I believe.

Give them chance!  Once the VIP ST Holders are sorted, then they'll get to the lesser members!  ?

    ??

Sorry, I can't keep up with the pace of news this week. New owner, competent level headed statement, new signings, tickets on sale! Now, this is imminently!

  8. It's been a bad week for England football. But it has been a full on season, a lot of changes to the side etc.

Yes, tonight has been poor from England. But, I do cringe that we've so quickly returned to booing the team and chanting "You don't know what you're doing".

I don't think he'll be that much of a miss in all honesty. He has done nothing for us in the the last half dozen games - this move has probably been on his mind for a while plus in my view he is a one trick pony - more often than not he doesn't have an end product to go with that pace. I wish him well but like Plange I reckon we'll be seeing him again in Championship at some point in the next few seasons.

His pace makes him a massive weapon. However, if you take that away then his decision making, passing, crossing, ability to use weaker foot don't make him all that appealing.

    Time will tell on Festy.
