Mike Ashley is a multi-Billionaire that has made his fortune by purchasing brands on their knees and then reinventing them to make money. We should’ve seen this coming.
Honestly, the liquidity alone makes him my favourite for the takeover. I really like how Appleby ran the club, but his lack of cash flow caused years of frustration. Ashley isn’t going to throw money around, but he has the liquidity to more than cover what a club of our size requires. Huge difference between ourselves and Newcastle fans as we should be pleased that he’s willing to save the club when it’s in the worst state it’s ever been in.

My piss is boiling right now!! I’m so angry. Seething!! This is an absolute disgrace!! The EFL is a shocking organisation that panders to its most vocal members. This isn’t about financial fair play, integrity of the league or making clubs sustainable, this is politics pure and simple!! I want the administrators to publish everything, i want to know exactly what we have done that constitutes a 9 point penalty, how much have we breached by to the pound and penny - if it adds up to a 9 point deduction then fair enough and it’s more Mel lies. If it doesn’t, then we’ve been totally done over -  exploited due to our position being in admin and needing closure to sell the club. If it’s never released then we know the answer.

That all said, despite being angry at the EFL   the main person to blame for all of this is Mel. He plunged us into admin, he started the fight with the EFL and he ran away and both issues have contributed to us now being relegation certainties in November.

Few have defended Mel as solidly as I, and I don't blame him for wanting out. Pulling the plug is inexcusable though, when he presided over the accumulation of the debt. The honourable thing would be to settle the debt, and leave the club with dignity, a thing he is probably capable of doing without going hungry.  To inflict this on the thousands of us who feel it so deeply is shameful, despicable and from a Derby fan, sickening.
I don't know how he sleeps. I'd sooner die than be responsible for this. I know that sounds a touch dramatic, but I stand by it. Death over this much dishonour.

Hate is way too strong for me, but definitely angry.
Complains about spending £200m of his own money on the club - well couldn't you have spent some of that not saddling us with a crippling, and possibly fatal mountain of debt? Fails to pay £26m of tax, fails to submit accounts, defends to the hilt accounting policies that appear to have hidden our slide into complete unsustainability. Says nothing to the fans for months, letting them  believe all is fine. Then bails, leaving us with a 12-point penalty (with more to follow), huge debts, and no stadium or assets to speak of. Staff out of jobs, suppliers out of pocket and the club facing the very real prospect of failing to find a buyer and going out of business.
This would be bad enough with any company. With a football club it's much worse. It means a lot to a lot of people. There is a reason Google don't get an open-topped bus tour through San Francisco every time they end the year as America's top search engine.

There is one thing that to me is in excusable…NOT PAYING HMRC…..he’s supposed to be an astute businessman yet fails to pay the tax bill ….if he had cleared this and left then so be it…but to try and get a buyer to take on his debts to the HMRC is laughable …imagine any of us getting a job and the employer saying oh by the way the previous incumbent didn’t pay his taxes so you’ve got to pay them ….joke …no sympathy …taken us into admin and he’s not short of money ….good riddance and before anyone says he spent money he tried his best …we as fans trusted him as the club was under his control to run it properly …not run it into the ground!!!!! ?

Afraid any goodwill MM did have from me is very quickly evaporating.
Ive gone from defending, and feeling sorry for him to now just think he is an egotistical bare faced liar.
Wasn't his supposed gripe with FFP that it wouldn't let him put more money into the club?

Thoroughly enjoyed the first half.  Excellent on and off the pitch.  Atmosphere was right up there with the best of them, including full houses and 5-0 wins.  Surrounded by feel good factor, sunshine, song and smiles.
Thoroughly endured that second half.  All a bit meh, on and off the pitch.  Much like many previous Derby games.  (Lower case being deliberate!).
Ah well.  What with an upcoming holiday, international breaks, and travelling back from Dorset whilst we're at home to Stoke, it's a full month off for me, until the Reading game on 29/9.  Such a shame it wasn't on a bit more of a high!
Not normally as down as this after a draw, but that game really was there for the taking.  Missed opportunity!
    UTR, and all that!  ?

Yeah I’d agree with that, Lawrence was always likely to fall away from the 50th min onwards and Stretton gave us the mobility and a focal point needed to drag players around/hold on to the ball better.
I really like the look of Stretton actually, he needs a few seasons to develop fully, but there’s a good striker in there who we can rely on as decent backup now.

I actually think Stretton coming on started to give us a bit of a foothold in the final third as the ball stuck more when we cleared. (Compared to the second half without him)

I’d disagree with your first sentence.
The game was changed with Forests HT sub and tactical changes.

Lawrence going off meant we carried a bit less threat, but didn’t change the fact we we’re on the back foot for the 2nd half.

    What a performance.
Didn't put a foot wrong all game. Calm on the ball, great positioning, great leadership, won every tackle, won every header, even when they outpaced him he just put his body in the way?.  Age is just a number!

I just cannot believe that a meeting took place for 4 hours, and the highlights seem to be that there are no incomings or outgoings, Mel wishes we used more academy players and that there are interested buyers.
I could have told everyone that without needing 3 hours and 59 minutes more and wasting people's time and money to get to the meeting.
I'd have also done a 45 second interview with Radio Derby so not as to subject normal fans to abuse online.
Then made anyone with a supporters number sign a NDA. And their families.
What the duck did they do for 4 hours. Talk about Nick's massive flag? Rooney and his new mates?
In fact I should probably start my first ever thread:
Things you can discuss with strangers that takes 4 hours.
