Just keep reminding them of Derby's situation in two play off finals QPR and Aston Villa, no other team has been more hard done by than Derby.

Theres a lot of open space around the Riverside by the docks near that transporter bridge statue thing. Maybe all gather there, Derby fans could still be heard from there in the stadium without buying a ticket. Have a bit of a (social distanced) parking lot / tailgate party during the game.

Great response, Looking at that list it really is remarkable how many top class players can't hack it in management. Yet many lesser players can make it in management, I wonder if a lack of success as a player makes you more passionate to succeed as a manager?
However most of them on that list did manage in the top flight and I'll be more than happy to see Rooney manage Derby in the top flight. And a few of them did have half descent management careers.
In the current climate Derby find themselves having Rooney as the manager is a plus for me.
I can't image anyone being interested in signing for Derby right now other than the Rooney factor

Interesting that this thread started with a reference to Forest and than Alex Ferguson gets a mention.
Some of our younger listeners may not be aware that Fergie joined Man U in 1986 by the start of 1990 he had won nothing, In the previous season Man U had finished in the bottom half of the table, below the likes of Millwall, Coventry City and even little old Derby (who finished 5th in the top flight). As 1990 started Man U had gone 7 games without a win leaving them no chance of the league they ended the season in 13th place.
Fans at old Trafford were far from happy, attendance where falling and banners against Fergie started to appear. United's only chance of a trophy was the FA Cup (back in a time when it really meant something). However they had been drawn away to Forest, Forest where massive favourites if United lost this game Alex Ferguson would almost certain be gone! Man U won the game and then went on the win the cup and the rest, as they say is history.
Ain't saying Roooooney is a Fergie he's not even close at the moment and he may never be, but if we let him go or if he walks there will be a dozen clubs asking if he's interested in managing them. The aren't many who have won so much and had years being managed by arguable the best in the business ever.

What ever is going on at the Rams this side of the pond it's nothing compared to the Rams in the NFL, If the city of St Louis win there lawsuit case (which increasing is a possibility) it will become one big mess for not only the Rams but for other NFL owners and maybe even EPL teams?

Didn't begrudge him going. Don't feel much sympathy at him being sacked.
