A bit of a controversial one, but I'd love to see Ben Osborn at Derby.

Right age and very versatile, he can play in that Left Wing Back position or Centre Mid (both areas we need to strengthen).

Wages might be a sticking point however...

Looks like he'll be released by Sheffield Utd and he's definitely Championship standards.

I know he's an ex Red Dog and I know he scored that winner against us but he's a Derby lad and that's got to count for something, right???

Not quite the right age as he will be 30 as the season starts, but would be great to cover so many positions. He is a Derby fan I believe despite his past so maybe he could fancy it.

Interesting you mention Langstaff. Watching his many goals on YouTube and elsewhere, there aren’t that many that would be offered as chances in the Championship.

It will be interesting to see if he can do it at a higher level.

Think he would have gone a couple of years ago if he was going to. He’s now 27. Not the age you want to make a gamble on.

This is why I suggested Thomas Delaney earlier in the thread (p54?). If a team has a leader (like we had with Igor) who is a class above, it can take them a long way. And raise the level of the players around. Like Eranio when he came. Obviously also John Gregory dropping down the leagues.

Might we sell someone the Derby dream/project and bring one player in to excite the city?

And to be fair to you, that suggestion is as bad as this one.

It is a little surprising only because Warne himself said it would be out last week. But it may only turn out to be a couple of days late so no big deal.

Did he actually say that? i watched the interview but can't remember verbatim so he may well have done, but I just remember him saying about speaking to them when they've returned from Vegas and didn't commit to last week? We as fans knew when they returned, so put 2 and 2 together.

I am not ITK about Lallana’s huge demands . Or if Hourihane has played enough games to trigger another year on £10k a week while he does his coaching badges. However I saw Ross Barkley almost keep Luton up. A touch of class amongst a load of journeymen is not a bad thing .

Ross Barkley was 29 when he signed for Luton. Lallana is 36.

They were heavily suggesting on Radio Derby tonight that Hourihane has a one year option in his contract...  😬

You’d let him go on a free to anyone who wants him (like I would a few others) or hope he knows it’s time and retires.

Is the delay due to some ‘key’ players holding out for a better deal? Wildsmith and maybe Sibley spring to mind.

It does seem for whatever reason that we’re sitting on this topic, would be surprised if there’s no particular reason for it.

No, look at retained lists of every other club. Those players would just be filed as Contract Offered.

Had a season long loan from a struggling Barnsley side into League 1 for the season, then back in the Barnsley side in League 1.  Players can improve but that sort of thing rings alarm bells of a ready made signing in case the worst happens.  That thinking means it often does.

He was only like 21 at the time. Don't think it's indicative of much.

We didn’t hold a pity party March though 😂

and even now, on this forum there’s a complete reluctance to accept that Derbys situation was one of your (well, Morris’) own doing. It’s all the EFLs fault

We broke the rules and paid for it. Our fans generally seem to accept that

Do they? I know Twitter isn't the voice of reason, but the whole thing calls for conspiracy theory on every minute thing. If your idea of accepting it is just whataboutism with regards to every other rule breaker, than maybe.

Fundamentally, Forest vastly underperformed. They were, understandably, expecting midtable this season with the teams being promoted being so poor - and that's before it became obvious Burnley would be horrendous, because that was slightly more surprising than the other two.

The owner removed his shield in sacking Cooper to get his yes man, things have barely improved if at all. Think you'd have achieved survival just the same with Cooper. Then between all the controversy, season ticket debacle and now stadium nonsense, the trust has been eroded back to where it was before he captured lightning in a bottle with the Cooper hiring.

Everyone wants to be in the top league, of course they do, but the Forest fans I know aren't under any illusion that the reality of knowing full well how much you're going to lose and when you finally get good players, you know they'll be gone quickly, isn't actually that much fun.

So turns out the council have offered the freehold to Forest for £10m, aka what they paid JLingz for one year, and all the talk of increased rent was a red herring to try and convince the fans they had no choice but to move.

Makes you glad we no longer have a hierarchy who take the piss with the information they give the fans

There's more conspiracy theories out there.

Tom Cartledge, the now CEO at Forest, owns a company that was in charge of the planning/development at the shitty ground prior to being made CEO. There's a thinly veiled link at the sheer amount of money that he/his company would make at buying cheap HS2 land in Toton for a stadium, and the benefit that would give the Tories too.

It’s difficult to make a true comparison with Ebou. Francois has been playing for a team that narrowly avoided relegation so you’d expect him to be exposed to more defensive duties. I also often question such stats. On the basis of those figures what on earth has Ebou been doing all game, why is he such a fans favourite and why would we all love it if we could sign him? I must be missing something.

Doesn't include miles covered, I guess. Ebou would be right up there in that. Hard to put into stats the overall affect on the rest of the team as well.

Tyrese Francois, a 23 year old Australian out of contract at Fulham this summer on loan at Vejle Boldklub in Denmark where we know we’re looking. Fulham have kept him around for the last few years giving him the odd game here and there. His defensive stats are incredible and is the 98th percentile for defensive actions.

His defensive stats in comparison to Ebou Adams per 90 to show how good his stats actually are. He’s left footed so the two of them could actually play together pretty should we get them.

Lots of positives about him as he knows the English game, works hard, is on a free and is at a good age with up side.

An actual suggestion... bound in realism based on cost, age, need and stats. What is this thread turning into?

2 things, he's quite short at 5ft 8 and he's currently team mates with Raul Albentosa.
