Not sure that’s true. Probably was a decade ago. It’s gone down a little bit with the increased amount of teams that play out from the back. Being great with your feet is important, and invariably, more of those keepers are a little shorter. Not that you’d want much shorter, like.

Influence is fine, but if they have no use on the pitch when they’re being paid to have one, there’s little point. We would still have Nelson, NML and Cashin as the heartbeat, Bradley knocking about somewhere.

Can’t say I recall watching this guy before, but the general consensus from fans of teams he has played for is he’s pretty horrific with the ball at his feet. 15 years ago that’s no issue, but that’s always going to cap your value/market in the modern game.

Heading the ball is the issue, not the clashes of heads, flailing elbows and things? Sure. For what it’s worth, just like the NFL, know the risks. Don’t break a fundamental part of the game.

Give it Cashin with a 10 year extension.

Those creative positions are certainly the best use of loans in my opinion. They're the ones that cost the most money and we need more youth/pace there too.
