  1. I'd forgotten about Snowfall too. That was great and very underrated it seemed. I didn't realise there was a 5the and 6th season tbh. May need to check how I can get that. We saw the US version of The Killing which was great. So we decided to watch the original - was it Danish? But the script was word for word and it isn't one of those things I can watch more than once because there's no suspense.
  2. You've cheated with Caliphate and Chernobyl as both were only one season. We'd probably have had both if it was one season. We considered Subarra too, very good. However, the latest season was tragic. I flat-out forgot about Succession @Anag Ram. Both that and Mayor of Kingstown would have made a top 20 for sure.
  3. I was chatting with Mrs Badger when we took out the hounds yesterday morning and we agreed on the following with the only rules being there must be at least 2 seasons and no comedy. They are not in any order. Gomorrah - A total classic that hooks you in the first episode, which is no mean feat in these days of slow burners. The Wire - My niece's favourite of all time, and it had everything. 24 - I think this would be laughingly dated now, and there would be too many plot holes for me to stomach, but at the time, it was cutting edge. Wasn't it? The Sweeney - I mean, come on, who didn't love this back in the day? The Sopranos - only watched this last year and ducking loved it. Love/Hate - a better, more gritty version of Kin Breaking Bad - the OG os binge-worthy series, maybe? Top Boy - If I was ordering them, this may have been number one for me depending on my mood. Narcos - Season one and two were as good TV as anything I've ever seen, but it had dropped off by the end. Spiral - French cop drama that Mrs Badger would possibly have fighting with Top Boy for her number one place. Honourable mentions for House Of Cards, but the last season was just too horrible to stomach and Manhunter, which is kicked out by The Sweeney for sentimental reasons. Better Call Saul and the Israeli dram, Fauda were also considered and close to making it. As a point of note, we have never watched Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. We couldn't get into the former and never tried the latter. We also only watched the first 3 seasons of The West Wing when Channel 4 added adverts, so that would be considered, I think, if we'd finished it.
  4. You see some lovely football in League One. Said nobody, ever.
  5. We're second in the division. Why don't we deserve it? That makes zero sense. We're not very good, but CLEARLY, neither is the entire division. You don't fluke your way to 20 wins out of 33 games.
  6. Can we be more specific for those us reading on our phones. Which Derby are you talking about? The mens team, the women's team, the Rugby club or the men's 4 x 100 in the athletics? IHow are we supposed to know?
  7. He had the most amazing charismatic smile. He could switch from evil scumbag to lovely genuine guy in a second - it was really chilling. And I agree, I thought his character was the weak link in the first series, but he dominated it as it went on. Definitely better than Kin,which is a lot more polished, but I really like Kin too.
  8. I'd say exactly the opposite; they couldn't work together. The sums of their parts rarely equalled the whole. It was rumoured or maybe true, that Gabbiadini and Kitson hated each other. None of them were ever consistent enough I thought the side under Arthur that went up was amazing. The speed that they could counter with Gee, Davison NC and GM was breathtaking.
  9. That wasn't the conversation. He was ok, but not much more. He was as likely to hit one over the Ossie End roof as into the net, and his control could be atrocious at times. His record of 50 goals in 188 games was hardly prolific, and any legendary status he has now (which is debatable) is more down to his attitude, work rate and clear fondness for Derby. H was the anti-Kitson who had a higher goal per-game rate and was more skilful, but was sulky and lazy.
  10. Started Griselda last night. A fairly promising first episode, very much in the Narcos vein.
  11. Pembridge, Gabiadini and Kitson.
  12. What side is it on? I do like me some sinister David Tennant!
  13. I didn't mention Short because he rated him, even when he was playing poorly and very few others did. He was on the fence iirc about Tommy. We may have got our money back, but none was worth what we paid and got paid. All 3 flattered to deceive.
  14. TBF, his best was better than yours. Sadly, that's the best I've got.
  15. He has dementia now and lives in (I think) Spain. His son took over the 3 Stage at Darley Bridge. Used to chat with him regularly in The Strand in Matlock. Always a dour so and so pouring scorn on my optimism. Then again, he said we'd overpaid for Kitson, Pembridge and Gabbiadini, so he was probably more on the case than me.
  16. We finished True Detective last night and left a bit meh tbh. Mrs Badger was a bigger fan than me. I said in an earlier post that I just couldn't warm to Jodie Foster as an actor, but I'm now wondering if it's because she's just not very good. 6.5/10 for me and nothing like as good as Fargo. SPOILER COMING I thought the plotline of the lad killing his dad and then calmly mopping up blood and wrapping his body was all a bit silly. It's not like they even hated each other. He'd have been a total wreck. And whereas they were right to hate the scientists, to torture and murder them was a tad harsh when they always had a much greater good in mind. Plus, would a cop have just left it there? I dunno.
  17. We finished Season 2 of Kin - excellent, and loved the ending. Two episodes of the somewhat disappointing True Detective to go, and then we'll probably check out Breathless. Mrs Badger went to drool over Martin Fry at the Hall for Cornwall last night and I watched the first episode of Loudermilk. I definitely laughed out loud a couple of times and may well go back to that.
  18. Marks out of 10. Did you blub? I'm not hugely into love stories but Mrs Badger is and I'm considering suggesting it.
  19. sweet as a very sweet nut that has been dipped in sugar and shoved up a bees arse!
  20. I just got off a client call. How are we playing?
  21. @NottsRam and @ketteringram we wondered if Darren's sister (I forget her name now) just couldn't be in it because that seemed weird. His girlfriend was just written out of the plotline so that didn't feel especially weird, more like real life. I thought the end of Season 3 was brilliant. I am enjoying Kin second season, but I miss the grittiness of Love/Hate. Having said that, I don't miss half the dialogue in Kin!
