  1. Not on them. He's got a bottle inside one of his boots. Tough playing like that tbf.
  2. I know it will be superseded by the next three games if we win, but I feel like this is the biggest game since Frank said 'II know what would be hysterical, let's leave out the guy who scored two goals coming off the bench in the last game' I'm coming up for Saturday's game, so please win, lads, and set it up nicely.
  3. I'm disgruntled with a small d but I'm not Disgruntled with a capital D. I'm a bit disgruntled with Ripley after an episode and a half. I hope someone can drag it out of its own a******* sooner rather than later.
  4. I said to Mrs Badger. Don't you think I'm like Larry David? She replied. Yes <pause> you're a bald bad tempered t*** too. How we laughed.
  5. Yep, we watched it tonight too. Fabulous scriptwriting and you always get the impression they're having a blast.
  6. Just finished This Town. It grew on me a lot, and I'd be surprised if they didn't make another season. I hope they do, as there are some intriguing options to take storylines. I was very much into the whole Two Tone thing, and the attention to detail was really impressive. I think it would look confusing or even unrealistic for some people who didn't go to gigs around then. But it really was a strange mix of mods, skinheads, rude boys, punks and the like. Almost every gig I went to at the time ended up in fighting between mods and skinheads, especially at gigs by The Jam. As a couple of side notes, am I the only one who thinks Dante looks a lot like a young Cassius Clay? And that both Robbie and Gregory were trying to be Tommy Shelby? After a pondering start, a solid 8/10 for episodes 4,5 and 6 and it left me wanting more - which is what a good series should do.
  7. I grew up thinking that if I swallowed an apple seed, a ducking tree would take root and disembowel me. Now I have found out the sees are really good for you containing high concentrations of polyphenols. And apparently, less than 50 people per year are disembowelled by a tree growing inside them. What nonsense were you told other than the obvious stuff about Santa, tooth fairies, and Sally James always found it cold in the Tiswas studio?
  8. The scene in the coffee shop where they're arguing about ball-tickling was brilliant. I only watched episode one and then moved on to CYE as our comedy, so I will go back to that once CYE ends Agree about Ted Lasso. We made it into season 3, but it had gone off a cliff way before we got out. The first season was good, but you just cannot maintain the idea. Him getting the lingo wrong 3 years into the job was preposterous.
  9. We're almost at the same place and a bit disappointed at this stage. Largely because the music isn't the kind of stuff I was listening to I was hugely into the Two Tone thing, but that was coming to an end by 1981. Not at all given up because there's promise, but the whole Over the Rainbow segment was flat-out weird.
  10. Anybody dived into This Town yet? Toying with giving it a go tonight or going back and giving The Gone another go based on @Premier ram bigging it up.
  11. Anatomy of a Fall on Amazon Prime for £4.49. We ended up watching this in two halves after starting it a bit late on Sunday. At half-time, I was pretty stoked. It had fabulous acting and a well-written script, and I felt it was bubbling up nicely. The second half started with a clever court scene with more really excellent acting. Then nothing happened much. Rather than building to a crescendo, it just disappeared up its own arse. I thought I was getting Stimac/10, and ended up with Steve Mac/10
  12. My 3 favourite things are eating my family and not using commas.
  13. We finished the second season of The Traitors, Australia, last night The best of all of the seasons we have seen, which is both UK, both Australian and the first US (easily the worst). It works for me because there is such a strong psychological element, and seeing how cognitive biases and heuristics kick into full effect is fascinating.
  14. Did you think it was awful to begin with, as I did? Normally I can see some promise, but I saw nothing in this.
  15. I think you have us mixed up with someone else mate. We are marginally better than most teams in an awful division, but I'd not go any further than that. But I don't care if we go up. I can worry about next season, next season.
  16. Got this from a Forest supporting mate on WhatsApp yesterday: Down today Poor game and poor atmosphere Music to my ears.
  17. Watched the first episode of The Gone last night on iPlayer. It's stereotypical, cliched bollox with soap opera-level acting and a similar level of scriptwriting. It's painful to watch on every level, and I really don't think I can go back to it even though it's only one episode.
  18. We couldn't have kids either because I'm a total jaffa. But I would imagine knowing that from the get-go is much easier to manage than what you have had to deal with. All I can say is you have my best wishes, and you are lucky to have one another.
  19. I'd say that was a good idea. But ya know, it's Leeds, so it's not.
