  1. Apologies, try this instead ... https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/league-one-best-young-players-blackpool-wigan-athletic-peterborough-united-4558942
  2. How many of these could do a good job for us assuming we are promoted ... https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-rovers/ranked-league-ones-20-best-young-players-including-bristol-rovers-derby-and-bolton-stars-4017400?page=1
  3. Speaking to Derbyshire Live after the game, Warne said: “It depends on how severe it is. It could be two weeks, four weeks, six weeks or eight weeks. “My personal guess is that it will be four weeks. I have a lot of skills but medicine isn’t my top one. But hopefully, it won’t be too bad.” Despite the blow, Warne did reveal that he could welcome back a trio of players for the season run-in: “Tyreece John-Jules was up here for the game on Saturday and they’re now telling me there is a chance he may be fit for the end of the season. That would be a result. Conor Washington is fit and Martyn Waghorn is looking a bit more like it.”
  4. On the balance of play, we won, but were we the better team on the day. If we win promotion, if we struggled against Bolton, are we capable of at least a mid table championship finish or does the team need to be significantly enhanced in the summer. After struggling to stay afloat under Rooney, i dont want to experience that again. I want to see our team beat a number of championship teams, if we get promoted.
  5. I'm OK with him not being available for that game. He'd potentially add additional fire power. We still have other striker options. Blackett-Taylor and waghorn. "In the 2023–24 season, Blackett-Taylor had a productive season scoring nine goals and creating seven assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. Blackett-Taylor's performances earned praise from Charlton's manager Michael Appleton."
  6. Is recalling Dajaune Brown an option. He's scoring a lot at his loan club

  8. How many league one clubs are profitable. To recover clowes money he first needs to get the Club promoted to championship and then some how to the Premier league.

  10. I don't think his goal tally at other clubs was something to be overwhelmed by, with the exception of West Bromwich.
  11. There's a reason he was benched for a very long time in his other clubs plus he has scored a lot of goals for a number of seasons. His injury record in the past hasn't been great. Those are genuine reasons to have concerns. It feels more like gayle was a box ticking exercise, we despately needed a striker, he was available as a free agent so no issues with transfer fees or loan payments but equally perhaps not first choice if we had another choice
  12. Injury Prone: Gayle has faced challenges with injuries during his career, which could potentially impact his availability for matches and consistency on the fiel. Mixed Performance: While Gayle has demonstrated goal-scoring prowess, there have been long periods of inconsistency in his performance over several years, which might be a concern for us.
  13. Is there a need for a Goalkeeper upgrade

  16. Based on this result with the must win games of Bolton and Portsmouth approaching, can we win those games. Barnsley was the easier of the 3 games
  17. Only one question, if we face Barnsley in the playoffs can we beat them
  18. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-pompey-sheffield-wednesday-derby-county-bolton-wanderers-4531528 Steve Evans thinks Pompey are ‘six or seven wins’ away from the Championship. Which I think means Derby need 7 or 8 wins. I think that needs to include a win today against Barnsley, the beating Bolton and Portsmouth.

  20. Wouldn't we be restricted to replace with championship level under 30 year old players costs a lot. We have 10+ players who are out of contract in the summer that could need replacing. Just wondering strong the team might be if we are promoted. Warnes got form on relegating teams
  21. With our squad consisting of a number of older players, I'm concerned how we would stay in the championship if promoted.
  22. I put that list together based on a couple of factors .... 1. Free agent strikers in the summer 2. Potential free agents so zero transfer fee 3. Under 30 years old because in my opinion, if we are promoted, having players 32 years and older in the Championship will not be good enough. 4. Of the calibre required in the championship 5. We will have several strikers who's contracts I definitely wouldn't renew in the Sumner, so we will need new strikers. 6. The strikers needs to have scored at least 7 goals in a season
  23. Ché Adams, Aaron Connolly, Kelechi Iheanacho, Kayden Jackson and Tyrese Campbell are all free agents in the summer. Which ones would you choose to replace our old strike force in the summer, who are also free agents and the list includes Connor Washington and martyn waghorn. I'm assuming here we somehow make the championship next season, and also assume that the older players who seem to be injury prone are probably a waste of our wage budget in the Championship. We will have 10+ free agents in the summer, but I thought its worth looking at younger strikers first.
  24. Dwight Gayle signing, Player Concerns: Recent form: Only 2 goals in 24 appearances for Stoke City. Age: 34 years old, nearing end of career, decline could be age-related. Injury history: Missed 23 games due to knee injury in 2020/21 and 11 games with various issues in 2021/22. Raises concerns about reliability and fitness for a demanding League One promotion battle. Fitness: Reportedly not at ideal fitness levels. Wage demands: High wages could strain Derby's finances. Goal tallies over the last 5 seasons: 2023/24: 0 goals in 13 appearances 2022/23: 2 goals (Stoke City, Championship) 2021/22: 14 goals (Newcastle United, Premier League) 2020/21: 7 goals (West Bromwich Albion, Championship) 2019/20: 10 goals (Newcastle United, Premier League) 2018/19: 5 goals (Newcastle United, Premier League)
