  1. https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/54/7/421 This study over 16 years from uefa supports it, but note, its a very detailed scientific report
  2. The Impact of Long-Term Injuries on Football Players Increased Risk of Re-Injury: Players with a history of injury are significantly more likely to suffer a re-injury of the same type in subsequent seasons. This highlights the need for tailored rehabilitation and prevention programs. Lengthy Recovery Periods: Re-injuries often require longer recovery periods than initial injuries, particularly for muscle strains (e.g., hamstring, groin, quadriceps). Injury Burden: The combined impact of injury frequency and severity is crucial for understanding the full effect on teams and player performance. Age as a Factor: Older players (over 30) are more prone to severe injuries, which can lead to extended absences. Need for Ongoing Surveillance: While overall injury rates may remain consistent across seasons, specific injury patterns can change, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring for targeted interventions. In conclusion, long-term injuries significantly impact football players' performance, increasing their risk of future setbacks and prolonging their return to play. Coaches and medical professionals must work together to optimize rehabilitation, implement prevention strategies, and carefully manage the return-to-play process, taking into account individual player factors like age and injury history. https://www.howdengroup.com/sites/g/files/mwfley566/files/2022-09/Football-Injury-Index-September-22.pdf
  3. Leonard - Portsmouth, Preston North End, Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle linked with him. I'm recommending Beni Baningime, Connor Barron and Jensen Weir.
  4. If we predict ahead to potentially being in the Championship and then this number of cards could see suspensions at important times for those players when we need them for critical games
  5. What about proximity to suspension.
  6. Tanto Olaofe's with 20 goals at Stockport County. If we are promoted, I'd like to see him on our shopping list.
  7. Could Ruel Sotiriou do a good job for us? 11 goals and 5 assists.
  8. Should Brighton’s Marc Leonard be on our radar for summer transfer window. Leonard’s performances in League One on loan at Northampton Town have been good, including against us.

  11. When players have been out injured for a long time, they often take a while to start scoring a lot of goals if their going to get to that point at all. We don't have a lot of time, so will Washington and waghorn just make up the numbers on the pitch without scoring. Do we have the luxury of waiting for them to start regularly scoring
  12. Carries a great deal of risk given that we are unlikely to beat Portsmouth and we still don't know collins and Washingtons exact return date or how quickly they will be back to scoring. Bolton has an opportunity to overhaul us. Portsmouth is a game we could easily lose.

  15. I believe being truly competitive in the Championship means aiming for the top six, but that requires a budget we won't have. Relegated Premier League teams receive huge financial advantages that put us at a disadvantage. Relying on aging free agents and young loanees is a recipe for a weak squad. On the other hand, spending the money necessary to improve could be financially disastrous. The club promises a 'competitive squad,' but that promise is meaningless when everyone has a different definition of competing. Mid-table might be realistic, but avoiding a relegation fight would be the bare minimum expectation. Sadly, we won't be able to attract top Championship players, further limiting our options. We keep selling our best young talent, meaning we now face the harsh reality of how much replacing them will cost.
  16. https://www.derbycounty.news/news/derby-county-chief-now-makes-transfer-promise-to-fans-if-paul-warne-achieves-promotion/ In my mind, to compete, means being a top six club, but that relies on a top 6 budget. Former Premier league clubs receive parachute payments, money for having been in the Premier league, given to them to try to promote them immediately back to the Premier league. It's on a sliding scale, over several years. That's the top 5 clubs, already having an unfair advantage. Free agents mostly players over 30 and young loans don't equal success at championship or league one levels very often. Spending money could see us back to almost seeing the end of the club. We will need many replacements in the summer, in part, due to out of contract players but also because we will want a stronger squad. The efl will be monitoring our spending even if for once, with a slightly less critical eye. If we are promoted, we will not be the first club to have been promised a competitive squad but such a squad costs money. Is the club over promising because, a competitive squad in our first season back in the championship means different things to different people. Mid table, is competitive in the first season, in my opinion. Some one else might say that pw not repeating his previous double relegation with Rotherham is something to be hoped for. The best players in the Championship are probably beyond our budget and will not want to join an at best midtable club or one that might face a relegation fight. For a while now our best promoted players from our academy, who might have done a great job for us in the Championship have been sold on. Now we might be, about to find put again what it actually costs to bring in talent at the championship level. A player that looks good at league one level might be mediocre at best at the championship level.
  17. I'd like to get some more players of the age 21 to 30 in our squad, preference for some players who have championship level experience and are not injury prone

  21. Speaking to Derbyshire Live after the game, Warne said: “It depends on how severe it is. It could be two weeks, four weeks, six weeks or eight weeks. “My personal guess is that it will be four weeks. I have a lot of skills but medicine isn’t my top one. But hopefully, it won’t be too bad.” Despite the blow, Warne did reveal that he could welcome back a trio of players for the season run-in: “Tyreece John-Jules was up here for the game on Saturday and they’re now telling me there is a chance he may be fit for the end of the season. That would be a result. Conor Washington is fit and Martyn Waghorn is looking a bit more like it.”
  22. On the balance of play, we won, but were we the better team on the day. If we win promotion, if we struggled against Bolton, are we capable of at least a mid table championship finish or does the team need to be significantly enhanced in the summer. After struggling to stay afloat under Rooney, i dont want to experience that again. I want to see our team beat a number of championship teams, if we get promoted.
  23. I'm OK with him not being available for that game. He'd potentially add additional fire power. We still have other striker options. Blackett-Taylor and waghorn. "In the 2023–24 season, Blackett-Taylor had a productive season scoring nine goals and creating seven assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. Blackett-Taylor's performances earned praise from Charlton's manager Michael Appleton."
  24. Is recalling Dajaune Brown an option. He's scoring a lot at his loan club
