  1. With the club having one of the highest salary budgets in League one, is it the case that players must be released/loan ended/sold on, before more players can be brought in so that's no breach of financial fair play rules for league one clubs. We have a lot of players but how many of them are currently worth the salary levels we are paying given that the club has one of the largest, if not the largest salary budgets in League one. I assume this effects January transfers
  2. In Peterboroughs case its all about Ivan Toney, they receive 30% of the sell on fee. Assume that's 80 million or more.
  3. I assume, that's partly because of those players being either too old or towards the end of their contracts

  5. https://www.derbycounty.news/transfer-news/derby-county-told-they-need-fresh-blood-amid-worrying-january-transfer-update/ Pw "“It’s evident we need one or two players to help us over the line but there are no guarantees. Everybody is trying actively to reinforce it but I’ve said loads of times that the best teams who went up last year, didn’t lose anyone and improved. We didn’t improve. We kept the same group and they just fatigued by the end. We have an older team than a lot of others but we need fresh blood I think.” How important is the January window to Derby County’s chances? This time last year, Derby County sat in the same position in League One – in fourth place. Just like this season, they also sat three points from seventh. The Rams went onto make three loan signings in the January window – Tottenham’s Harvey White, Forest Green Rovers’ Luke McGee and Norwich City’s Tony Springett. While the clubs around them improved, Derby didn’t, and instead they begun dropping points to the likes of Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers, before they eventually finished one point outside the play-offs. Derby County would be stupid to make the same mistake again and really ought to provide Paul Warne with the tools he needs to make this a solid second half to the campaign, because otherwise we will be back here starting all over again in eight months time.

  7. As much as we need them, are we actually getting any reinforcements. It seems to me that we might make the play offs. Are we good enough to beat the teams in the play offs.
  8. Signing some of these ... Blackett-Taylor, Charlie Wyke, Sinclair Armstrong, Marvin Ekpiteta and Kenny Dougall might improve our promotion chances

  10. Missing the point, I don't trust warnes tactics. I'm asking if anyone's advising him
  11. He's 29 and has been a prolific goal scorer over several seasons
  12. Why does pw get his formations and tactics wrong so often and then try to make excuses. In the past we employed a football tactics analyst, are we not doing that now?
  13. The upcoming January transfer window presents an opportunity for our club to make a strong push to sign Jonson Clarke-Harris from Peterborough United, potentially hijacking Bristol Rovers' pursuit of the striker. Clarke-Harris has a proven track record in League One, having scored 26 goals in 36 appearances for Peterborough last season and over 30 goals in the 2020-21 season. While he has had a slower start this season with four goals in 14 appearances, his past performance at the League One level makes him a compelling target for our club.
  14. We can't let this win mask the things we need to fix. The real test is how pw responds in the months to come. One win after a run of poor form does not exonerate the manager or make up for the points already dropped.
  15. I wonder if warnes taken the team as far as he can. Football is a results game, and if the results aren't there, something has to change. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We can't continue with Paul warne as our manager getting results like this.

A great manager can see what they are doing wrong and put it right. The article discusses struggles against strong defenses. If your struggling against strong defenses you need better tactics amd greater fire power.

  20. Interesting that you think I should care what you think
  21. I wonder if it's worth considering replacing Paul Warne with Luke Williams. Williams has been coaching in League One and the National League with Notts County, and it appears that he is close to making further progress up the pyramid. He is known for his coaching methods and tactical mind, having previously coached the Robins Under-23s from 2017 to 2019, before joining Notts County. We would have to buy out this contract, but we would have to buy out the contract for most managers who might be worthwhile replacing Warne. Williams is an "on-the-grass" style coach who can help players improve their individual skills. However, I understand that there could be concerns about his ability to promote us to the Championship, and whether our club is willing to take the risk.

  23. While I've appreciated Paul Warne's efforts since he joined us, it's clear our form under his leadership has been dreadful. After a string of defeats that see us languishing in the wrong part of the table for a club of derbys pedigree. Warne was brought in to turn things around, but the results speak for themselves - it simply hasn't happened. The squad looks devoid of ideas and motivation lately. Though saying goodbye is difficult, we need fresh tactics and enthusiasm to start winning again. As much as I respect Warne, the club must come first. Bringing in new leadership gives us the best chance of promotion and getting Derby back where we belong. The fans deserve better and have suffered long enough. I know making a managerial change is disruptive, but our poor form shows something needs to change. With the right appointment, we can still turn our season around. But sticking with the status quo means more disappointment. It's time we start looking forward. Let's thank Warne for his efforts and begin the search for a manager who can bring success back to Derby County. Our club's future is at stake.
