  1. I actually thought we'd probably lose to Villa as they were flying and was even more in that camp when I saw the starting line up . Roos pissed me off making it easy for them and I got more pissed off when Marriott came on and Mings s*** his pants for 25 minutes, when he'd previously spent the game pushed up on the halfway line scratching his arse. Was always going to be a tight game though in the toughest playoff set of teams I can remember. The QPR and Leicester ones were proper awful as I'm sure in both cases we'd have stayed up and built. Redemption was quick after Leicester. Not after QPR. We had a real chance in the year we played Hull and should have gone up. That Ipswich injury too Thorne was crucial, followed by the ridiculous 3rd Hull goal at the end of the game at home. They were crap.
  2. Seems the cost of Plymouths promotion season was about 18 million quid . They lost 3.5 million last season. Not sure how that compares with us last season or does this season. Seeing as they sold a player to Ipswich and had not much in the way of purchases, it's more than I thought.
  3. He does have the bonus of course of getting a side to the Championship that were even smaller than Rotherham and actually keeping them up for two seasons. He likes to get past the first rounds of proper cups as well, semi final being the favourite. He can find a bargain as well. Think our net spend over 4 years must have been about 2million and he reduced the squad by half, cut the wage bill in half, brought through some youngsters we got 16 million quid for and brought the average age down by about 5 years. On top off that he mightily pissed of Forest fans by turning down the chance to manage them and stay here. Then they went all non league Nigel on him and started having have an annual day for the demi god that was Fawaz. Bloke did a good job on the whole. His last few games where I suspect he knew what was coming clouds the water.
  4. Centre fold I'm assuming to avoid too much of a squeeze. Felt every sweaty morsel of that for 60 mins playing against him in the mid 90's. An experience not to be forgotten.
  5. A 25% chance of playing the most embarrassing fixture in the clubs history. Buzzing. If we draw Forest and have any thoughts of playing anyone with more than 3 first team appearances and over the age of 22 that will be horrific.
  6. They're really not are they. Not wanting to spend another year in this turgid league, especially as it will be harder to get out of next year with the clubs dropping in, is rather different to demanding premier league titles and European titles.
  7. I struggle with internationals nowadays when players can get full caps after 10 games in a clubs first team and play in full internationals then change countries. The latter probably influencing the former . Back in sepia times when I started watching, a player would need a couple, maybe more, years of first team football playing consistently well to get a cap. It's all a bit like climbing Everest nowadays. Not what it was.
  8. I'm here with Derby manager Paul Warne. Paul, can you put your finger on our performances this season are so horrifically inconsistent despite signing 11 players to make it very much your team.
  9. Probably one of those doing 'champions of England you'll never sing that' in the FA cup game against us a few years ago.
  10. Depends what you spend the money on. Beck and Prior.
  11. Probably embarrassed about the telling his dad bit and it getting back. As he was subbed, I'd go with Gregory.
  12. I remember a couple. Bit like I remember Ian Wright going on Talksport and talking about Derby being a club with substance and people were treating us appallingly, during their Lampard to Chelsea two week w***-a-thon. Spoilt their mood a bit
  13. As they retained their place in the division that will be huge legal fees pissed up the wall. Almost as big a waste as about 90 million they spent on s**** last season with 4 years wages on top. I look forward to their accounts over 4 years
  14. 30k for Shinnie. Surprised everyone forgot this massive sale.
  15. Everton appealing on the we could have sold players to cover this if not for covid. Worked for half the championship after we'd been reared and they altered the framework for Stoke, Bristol City etc. Joke.
  16. Somehow we only got 300k, despite both Celtic and Rangers wanting to sign him. Our crack negotiation team comes up trumps as always.
  17. They won't go down. I think they'll only need about 22 points. Never thought I'd see a points deduction in the Premier League. When is it Man Citys turn
  18. Isn't Wallin the bloke Fury beat about 4 years ago despite having to protect a nasty cut, when he weighed about 25 stone hadn't been in the ring for 2 years and had consumed about 5000 pints in that period. Good times. Top level stuff.
