I love watching the coverage of Bundesliga games, where the diehards are at each end of the ground, and the middle sections have fans of both teams chatting, shaking hands etc. I wonder if they ever have any trouble? The Germany fans I have met seem very phlegmatic about their football these days and can take winning and losing in their stride equally well.

It's not as idyllic as you imagine. My local 3rd division team Waldhof Mannheim has plenty of thuggish supporters who cause enough trouble, especially if they are playing against Kaiserslautern or Saarbrücken. The police are out in force in riot gear, which is something I have never seen in England.

  2. This really is a huge pain in the bum. I live in Germany and rarely come over to visit since my mother passed away. It never crossed my mind that a 3rd division club would have enough international players to justify moving the game,  and rearranging flights is too much hassle now. I went for the whole Corona period without seeing the mighty Rams and last saw them exactly a year ago.  Very annoying.

Living in the Netherlands, I have a RamsTV subscription so see all league games, home and away. Saw the Pompey game live at PP. Booked to come over for Charlton but that's likely to get moved as it's an International weekend so I might move the flights to catch one of the 2 midweek games next month. Booked for 2 games (and a Tuesday to Sunday stay...) in March and will fit 3 or 4 others in over the season.

I am coming over from Germany to see the Charlton game and have tickets.  Please don't tell me it's likely to be moved!🫢

"The difficulty and currently, in our view, the last remaining significant obstacle is to deal with certain claims that are very much disputed but which we are being advised by the EFL cannot be currently compromised notwithstanding statute says otherwise"

I am reading that as Q alleging the EFL are breaching their own rules?  Although it's a terribly put together sentence.

It's the "notwithstanding statute says otherwise" bit that I don't understand. Can anybody clarify this?

This is a super bad idea as it will leave us open to more points deductions see EFL regulation 24

24 Requirement to Play Full Strength Sides in League Matches

24.1 Each Club shall play its full strength in all Matches played under the auspices of The League unless some satisfactory reason is given. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Board shall refer the matter to a Disciplinary Commission which has the power to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.

    Guidance

From the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a League game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the League game before.

He will be forced to sell his most valuable players at Xmas if League 1 is unavoidable, so they wouldn't be available for selection in March.

I’m away on holiday this week. What’s the best way to watch the game tomorrow?  Can I still pay £10 if I’m abroad?  I could tunnel back to the UK and pay a tenner if needs be.

You can indeed pay £10 when you are abroad. It was only a fiver for us abroad last season. I suppose the club needs the cash in its current predicament.

Yes mate. It's been brewing for a long while now, and tonight I decided to just bite the bullet.

I've not written off reconciliation completely, but I've made it very clear to him that it will require some serious changes to his behaviour for me to forgive him. He's been messing me, my mum and my siblings about for a couple of years now, and I decided it was time to say enough is enough.

One of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt honour thy father and mother", but nobody has a God-given right to push their families around and mess them about. There are limits. I went through that as a young man myself and I know it can be difficult. It's important to maintain your self-respect. Just stay true to yourself and the things you believe in. It can be very hard work,  but I wish you all the best.
