  1. His dad tweeted well done, now keep them in the top two, no pressure!!
  2. Well I had a cracking day out in Rome yesterday. Awesome weather, great company beer was flowing and the rugby was ok. Despite not playing great do think we have some talent coming through. I was a bit hacked off giving them a bonus point late on (great try from an Italian perspective) but consoled by Mendez’s winner at the valley. England winning, Derby winning, Wales losing perfect weekend.
  3. I think Warne’s update this afternoon also to some degree validates Big Trav’s credentials as an ITK (for those who feel it needs validating personally I appreciate the info he posts). He was on here yesterday mentioning a medical pencilled in for a name (that wasn’t Lee Gregory or Michael Smith), clearly we did have someone the club had kept under wraps lined up and it didn’t happen. Maybe one day BT will reveal the player 😉. Keep on posting what you know and what you can BT.
  4. It may not be the owners intent you’re right, but Warne will have a much bigger chunk of budget to play with this summer if he wants with those players I mention out of contract
  5. His injury record does make me question this one but he’s done a job for him in the past. I actually thought he was starting to look really good then he gets injured. We need him to make a contribution now and if he stays fit (my tongue in cheek opinions aside) at this level he can do a decent job. We need him to in the run in
  6. He’s made a statement about budget. Potentially it’s naive as clearly while there is a budget it’s restrictive, as demonstrated by the CBT transfer. At least in terms of transfer fees we can’t go and get the young talents our rivals are able to sign. And we can’t escape a fair chunk of our “competitive” budget is used up by players not signed by Warne, and either past it in the eyes of some (Hourihane) or surplus to requirements currently (Smith)
  7. Don’t disagree with some of your points, yes Collo staying fit is even more important now. But think you’re giving the other teams too much credit, 8th if we’re lucky when we’re 10 points ahead of Blackpool currently and there is a chasm of difference between us and 9th think it’s an overly pessimistic take from you personally. When we’ve been bad we’ve been clinical for the most part and that’s what will get us in the playoffs at least.
  8. Have no fear, Super Conor Wash is back on the grass, Northern Ireland’s and League one’s answer to Messi……David Nugent I mean (always crocked and can’t hit a barn door) I agree with you Brown definitely isn’t ready.
  9. 2nd. This league is wide open. Don’t rate Pompey, Barnsley up and down, Posh are flying right now but are a young team and therefore could easily blow up, Bolton are the standout team and I think the only one who will have too much for us. If Posh keep their amazing form think it will be playoffs. The team to watch is Blackpool. They’ve given themselves too much to do for automatic but if they can make the playoffs think they’ll win it. They’ve criminally underperformed first half of the season with their squad which is one of the best if not the best in the league. They’re on a good run now and showed against the red dogs in the cup just how good they can be.
  10. We clearly didn’t have the money to compete with other rival clubs for transfers, that or we refused to pay over the odds for Smith or Gregory. Selling Bird wasn’t in the plan unless we got a good offer which we did and we’ve got him for the season, I would hope we can use that money in the summer. How in any way is this down to Warne?. People will say Ward Bradley Fornah (although most were supportive of those transfers at the time), I will raise you Hourihane Smith Collins Mendez Laing Barkhuizen who I would bet any money will be in the top 5-10 earners at the club, none signed by Warne and of them people only want Mendez (although I also like Collo). However it is dressed up we’re still being restricted by an EFL business plan. We should hopefully have wriggle room in the summer (unless this really is the limit of Clowes spending in which case we potentially have some issues). They tried but ultimately we go with what we’ve got. Overall we’re stronger than when we started the window. Washington just needs stay fit and be our second striker to Collo. In fairness he was starting to look good when he got injured. You’d be fools to write us off. I remember 2015 January window, we were top 2 and signed Bent Ince Lingard De Sart and we were thinking what a window we’ve just nailed promotion. Look how that turned out - we didn’t even make the playoffs!
  11. Charlton 2 Derby 2 Blackett-Taylor FRGS
  12. He’s gone on to say if they could build a stadium for 50,000-60,000 people they would fill it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That and inferring Forest are bigger than some of the big 6!!! The bloke is as deluded as the clubs supporters. He’s kicking TVs losing to Arsenal FFS!! What the hell does he expect. They had a bloke called Clough who was a genius, they punched above their weight while they had him. Maranakis needs to get back in his very large box (probably needs one of his shipping containers the fat b******).
  13. With a nice war chest from his owners to go and sign players. Pretty much all his main targets
  14. Everyone knows we needed more this transfer window. Good move getting CBT but we need more. If we don’t get them, that’s on Thomas/Pearce/Clowes not Warne, and probably not even on them we’re clearly still heavily restricted.
  15. I think Collo is playing himself into Player of the Season contention
  16. I go mainly to home games I’ve struggled to make away games this season due to childcare. I would say the first 2 months of home games were a really tough watch and yesterday was very reminiscent of early season. I don’t think it’s been bad in between and I think people who don’t like the manager or his ideas are using the last week to re-emphasise their views and say it’s all part of a long trend which I don’t necessarily subscribe to. Lincoln was a tough game - as demonstrated by Posh yesterday. Reading we know was abject. Cheltenham was an awkward game don’t care what anyone says. They are only where they are because they are catching up from one of the worst starts to a season in history. Their form is midtable since Clarke came in. They fought scrapped played football at times and played well, whereas we struggled. Until birds goal yesterday we were horrific, but the lads should be commended for getting the job done in-spite of the equally horrific home backing yesterday. It was a tough watch yes but we’re in a promotion race and we need to do better. Booing when Cheltenham scored cheering the Hourihane sub - it’s moronic. The performances last 2 games have concerned me we’re going to hit a dip again at precisely the wrong time - but I also think other teams will so picking up points is vital. It was a good day for us yesterday. Last season we may well have not got the win. We also had games in the run in last season where we were excellent but dropped valuable points through not being clinical (Shrewsbury Pompey MK Dons). This season even if the football at times isn’t great we look to be more clinical and hopefully this will see us through. Yes we need to improve again but we are right in this and I get the impression we won’t go away without a fight. Fans need to get behind them.
  17. This will be a tough game. Clarke has done an unbelievable job there so far. We should not be turning up expecting us to batter them 5-0, fans should get behind the lads. I really can’t believe the negativity, can understand the frustration and anger at the performance on Tuesday but we’ve had one defeat and 1 draw at home since October and we’ve won many. If Cheltenham do come out fast and press us it gives us the chance to potentially put the game to bed in the first 20 mins but I think Darrell Clarke will be cute he’ll have a plan to try and stop our ball players. Think NML and CBT will start and think we could cause them havoc. Cheltenham will make it tough but we’ll have enough to do the job.
  18. Derby 2 Cheltenham 0 - Mendez-Laing FRGS
  19. Wasn’t the reason we lost. We don’t know situation, Tommo could be managing something. Hourihane and Bird are his senior players so he’s relying on them, the former because he can have a poor game and still win you a match. We’re light in midfield right now and I think you’ll see Tommo play a big role in the run in. He hasn’t really got a lot of options, he can’t rely on Fornah based on his performance in the Trophy the other week.
  20. Can’t have control of midfield when your players are struggling to pass and control the ball as was the case last night
  21. Not many IMO. Think some are overreacting. We’ve not be scintillating but we’ve not been bad, good in patches of games rather than full games. Burton for example we were decent until we let them back in. But last night was so bad don’t think it’s evidence of a trend, it has its own category. That’s more my point.
  22. All this crap starting to emerge again about style of play after 1 defeat. It’s tiresome. Idiots on Twitter (including some of our prominent podcasters) flip flopping again from it’s all brilliant to the world is now caving in, saying the performances for weeks have been awful and this is a continuation. b*******. While our performances haven’t been scintillating they haven’t been bad. We lost to a Posh side who is flying right now (can happen with young teams, can just as easily fall away), the Fleetwood and Burton games were patchy, we were good for 50 mins against Burton before we let them back in with individual errors. Lincoln was a struggle but seemed like one of those games to get through unscathed, that happens. Last night was abject in every sense of the word. One of the worst performances under Warne and far worse than recent games. Where as Lincoln made everything a fight and a contest, Reading were there for the taking and we missed a huge opportunity. And it wasn’t down to style of play or Warne’s tactics, wasn’t even down to his subs although I agree he should’ve left Liam on. It was down to players not doing their jobs and underperforming. Not doing the basics such as being able to pass the ball to another teammate, poor first touches, wrong decisions. Frustrating given a lot was at stake last night but this performance is on the players and they need to put it right. 4 winnable games coming up now, we move on.
