121-4 second wicket for Conners who's bowler well today. Been a conveyor belt of young bowlers who come and go over recent years, really hope Conners is the one who can be a mainstay for year's in the team.

It's my general impression that the Cricket establishment in biased against the smaller counties and against us particually as an unfasionable and unglamourous County, quite irrelevent to if we are a good side or playing a good game. Just dismissive.
I'd say Derbyshire are ahead in the game, not massivly so and we've yet to see how Wrcester bat their first innings.
I nipped on the bbc website earlier. They didn't even have the big wicket display box for wicket of Mitchell, just a quick sentence squeezed in barely noticeable.
-
Great ball by Hudson Prentice to get Mitchell out just before lunch. Nipped back and took the middle stump. Needed that one.
-
Harvey Hosein left unbeaten again, his average must be sky high this season.
Sam Conners with a wicket 2nd ball, looks nice overcast conditions for bowling
-
Absolutely, if we can squeeze out another 40 runs in the morning, you couldn’t ask for much more from a Derbyshire perspective.

Just turned on to see us lose 2 wickets in 2 balls. ?
So, Anuj Dal, batting at 7 today and doesn’t bowl. What is the point? Surely it is a waste of a batsman.
Anyway, Critchley, what a wonderful start to the season! Well played Sir!
Yeah, feel they are shoehorning him into the team because he’s such a good fielder. I like him as a one day player, but he doesn’t do enough with bat or ball in the 4 day game. We have enough all rounders in the team, Dal is one too many for me. He’s not a better player than Alex Hughes, so not sure why Hughes is nowhere to be seen this season. He’s scored some runs for the 2nds today, Tom Wood also scored a century. Perhaps pressing a claim for next week, if Dal fails again in the 2nd innings.

50 for Hosein, century partnership with Critchley who's only 4 away from his century.
What a start to the season these 2 have had.
Edit - critchley has his ton ?

Wrong thread ?

2 weeks until the draft....I’ll have a mock draft especially for @David soon, I know he likes them ?
-
No problems for Critchley batting at 5, a half century in every innings so far this season.

Its so frustrating that we are an opener short. We could really challenge if we had one that averaged 40+
Yeah, especially when we add the pace and bounce of Stanlake to the bowling attack. That’s just about all that’s missing.

217-4
Du Plooy out for 98, deserved a century. Looks like Hosein in at 6, which I agree with, but playing Dal as a batsman coming in at 7 feels a bit of a reach.
-
Madsen out for 1 ?
Critchley in at 5
-
Ahhh Godleman out, 142-2
-
50 for Godleman ?
runs flowing after lunch, I could get used to this.

Lunch Derbyshire 117/1
Excellent mornings cricket. Had that....here we go again feeling when Reece went in the first over.
Du Plooy shaky to start, but looking comfortable and the classy batsman he is now, supported by Godleman, playing a typical Godleman innings, agricultural but effective.
I had better do something useful for the next 40 minutes

50 for Du Plooy ?

Once he’s settled in, Du Plooy looks such a good batsman ?

He did look quite far over.
Yeah I thought that, would have liked to see a replay.
Du Plooy had a bit of luck, but raced to 18 runs. After a injury hampered pre season, and a pair in the 1st game, hopefully just what he needs to get going.
I forgot to mention the wicket is so green, it reminds me of when I played on the grass at the park at Mickleover as a kid ? I’m not expecting a big scoring affair.

As expected, it’s the same team that faced Warwickshire. I guess you have to give Dal more than one game to prove himself at 3.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bowl....hopefully Du Plooy and Madsen aren’t both at the crease in 15 minutes time....

I'd like a word with that BBC reporter who thought Worcester we're ahead...
