  1. Referring to my previous post, has it done untold damage to the dirties, red dogs, Sunderland and Ipswich or was it just part of their rebuilding?
  2. For those saying that we should walk this league, how many other 'big' clubs have been in lg1 and straight away walked the league. The dirties, red dogs, Sunderland, Sheff Wed and Ipswich have all struggled to get back into the Championship and none of them have had to start from ground zero and work under severe restrictions like Derby.
  3. Was that after they found the Egyptians player's nose 20 yards away on the touchline? 🤔😁
  4. This punishment of Everton shows up a massive flaw in the Premier League's rules. They have given Everton a 10 point penalty for making too high losses, but they welcome with open arms the likes of QPR, Villa, Bournemouth, etc, who all made illegal losses in the championship, in order to gain promotion to the Premier. Why aren't these clubs hit with points penalties either in the Premier or on return to the Championship?
  5. Yes, just like QPR when they got promoted at our expense.😡
  6. EXCUSE ME!!!!, I'm stair 41 of the 'lower tier'.😁
  7. Yes there are 2 types of yellow cards when thinking about substitutions which is what we're discussing. No1 player commits a deliberate foul to prevent a dangerous attack building up, he's fully in control of his actions by assessing the situation is worth getting a yellow card for and because his actions are so measured, he's unlikely to risk another card. No2 player lungs through the back of a defender who is facing his own corner flag about 10 yards away and relieves the pressure on the defending team by giving the foul away and getting a card. He has shown that he is out of control in a non stressful situation. Question: 2 players both on a yellow card, which would you substitute? Unquestionably, Sibo is one of the most talented players at our club and can comfortably score with either foot, but you have to make judgement calls how players are playing on the day and whether they're likely to change the game, when you take them off. Many times over the years, I seen our star players having an awful game and need to be pulled off, quite often the managers haven't been brave enough to do it. It seems that all managers have their favourites, who are rarely substituted or dropped. Sometimes, it's quite amusing when a sub is waiting to come on to replace a player, then that player scores and the manager has to change his mind.
  8. Assuming your constant refusal to say that you have actually watched the game, you can't possibly compare the cards issued for Wilson and Sibo. Also, you can't be in a position to comment on the decision to substitute a particular player, as you don't even know how he has played, he could be Messi but if he's having a rubbish game, he needs to be pulled off. It appears that you're just having a go at Warne, in this particular instance, simply because you have an agenda against him. He's made plenty of mistakes for you to criticise, without you making up reasons.
  9. So, you're original criticism of the first substitution was based on nothing but a goal assist in the first few minutes and you have no knowledge of the player's contribution after then? Warne can be judged to have made plenty of mistakes, but shouldn't be criticised by people with no knowledge of what they're going on about. However, it was disappointing that youngsters weren't given game time towards the end when the game appeared lost, although didn't the first game also appear lost? He couldn't have made a substitution in injury time because we'd used our 3 substitution windows by only doing one at a time, a few minutes apart. That's a criticism from me, we seem to poorly manage our 3 transfer windows by not utilising the half time break and just making single substitutions a few minutes apart.
  10. This is another anti-Warne diatribe, what do you base your latest criticism of him on? Is it his choice to substitute a player who although set up our goal, maybe didn't do enough otherwise, in Warne's opinion? Did you watch the whole game or did you base this player's performance on one contribution, that you'd heard about? If you watched the whole game and felt that the player was unfairly 'pulled off', fair enough. I refuse to criticise players publicly but, personally, I understood the substitution in in this instance, having suffered watching the whole game.
  11. Maybe someone can adjust the number 8 before it's fixed to the shirt, by cutting vertically on the left hand side of the 8 and taking out the upper and lower bulges. You'd be left with a vertical straight edge on the left side. Maybe someone could go to the club shop with a pair of scissors and do it for them, if they can't do it?
  12. Too true, many times I complain about individual players performances, but only in private with close friends, I never put it in the public domain as I can't see any positive in doing so, but I can see plenty of negatives. Yes, I know it's a forum and that's the place to air our views, but some of the negativity towards some of our players, can only do harm to the overall team spirit. Even the supporters can get affected by it, if you're constantly reading how rubbish xxxx is playing, you can't but help to scrutinise his play more. I've seen it time and again over the years, whereby a fans' favourite will make mistakes and get away with it, but a 'booboy' gets hammered after his first mistake. Confidence plays a major part in any sport, including football, the media and social media can play a big part in destroying a player and/or team's confidence.
  13. His all round performance was even more impressive, when you take into account his very early yellow card. He could have either lost his head and got a second yellow or just drift out of the game altogether in order to avoid a second yellow. But, with no senior replacement on the bench, he took responsibility and got stuck in and had one of his best games for the club.
  14. But on this occasion, I think that the break will allow some players a bit more time to get over their injuries. Some not fit enough to play next Saturday may be ok 7 days afterwards, we seen to have quite a few on the treatment table, ATM.
  15. I had a perfect side on view from the lower east stand by the half way line, it was a big push on Collo which catapulted him into the defender in front of him, I was up screaming for a penalty straight away, but not expecting one. That decision aside, I thought that the ref was poor in the first half. The 2 goals from Wildsmith's free kicks were like a welcome throwback from yesteryear. All too often, unless a free kick is awarded within 15 yards of the penalty area, modern free kicks are taken short and invariably end up back with our keeper. Hopefully, we will continue with these more attacking free kicks, with players like Fozzy, anticipating loose balls. Maybe opposition players will think twice about committing niggly fouls by the half way line, to break down our attacks?
  16. In over 50 years of watching the Rams, I've been lucky enough to see many 'legends' play for us and many a discussion is to be had on who is the greatest of all. However, there is only one undisputed legend amongst us all on dcfcfans.uk and that's B4. Although I never met B4, I couldn't help but admire his undying faith in our club, especially over the recent difficult years. My thoughts are with those who knew and loved him. RIP Daniel.
  17. Two games spring to mind, both already mentioned. First, the 4-2 victory over Newcastle in 1976, 4 excellent goals and a feeling of invincibility, the double was well and truly on. Second, that Wednesday 3-3 draw live on a Monday night tv, I was buzzing that much that when I got home at about 11pm, I had to watch the full recording in normal time, to live through it again. So unusual to feel that way after a game that we didn't win.
  18. They may get their chance in the cup replay with a number of first teamers being on international duty.
  19. We'll be a few players short for the replay because of international call ups, Nyambe has just been called up in addition to Worthington and some others.
  20. Back in 1979, I was offered a Triumph Stag, known for their problems, or I could buy my mother's 4 year Ford that had been trouble free from new. I went for the safe option buying the Ford...................................................and had nothing but problems and breakdowns with it. I always regretted taking the safe option. Nothing is certain in life.
  21. Our play would have suited Andy Carroll, who took a long time to find a club, eventually ending up in the french second tier, I believe.
  22. I am getting fed up with TV commentators repeatedly apologising for bad language picked up on the mics at live football matches. Normal tv programs are preceded with warnings saying that this program contains bad language, sexual scenes, violence, etc, etc. They don't have someone talking over the dialogue to apologise, every time an actor swears during a program. It is a live sporting event, people should expect to hear swearing, as they expect to see violence in a John Wick film. Surely one visual and audible warning preceding the match, should suffice?
  23. So the government has delayed the enforcement of EVs by 5 years, probably as a result of the mass hysteria of the media saying that we can't be ready for it. We seem to think that over night all cars will need charging at charging stations and that their charging capabilites will be as they are now. There will be no cliff edge, EVs will gradually take over from normal vehicles, which will continue to be in use for many years after any cut off date. Toyota have just announced that they envisage that by 2027, they will be producing vehicles with solid state batteries, these will be capable of being charged from 10 to 80% in 10 minutes and with a range of over 600 miles. That is 3 weeks motoring for the average car and that is just 4 years from now, just think how much more improvement will come before 2030. I fully expect manufacturers to have changed to solely producing EVs long before 2030, with or without government intervention.
  24. There never seems to be a period of time when one or more clubs seem to be about to suffer a points deduction. Who's next, will it be Everton, Reading, Birmingham or some other team who have kept under the radar? The remainder of last season's accounts are due to be released and should give an indication of clubs' trading, post covid. Alarm bells will be sounding around the country and I suspect that points deductions will become a standard fixture in our league tables. Hopefully, by working to our agreed business plan and the careful stewardship of DC, we won't be one of those teams for years to come. I'd like to say never, but we don't seemed to have learnt our lesson from previous financial problems over the last 40 years.
