  1. You may wish to check that table again. We DID have a game in hand, but we ballsed it up if you remember. We have played the same as Pompey and it is everyone else who has a game (or 2) in hand on us. We threw the advantage away and continue to play very badly. So my points still remain.
  2. It pains me to say it, but if we aren't signing anyone good, we may as well not sign anyone at all. This year really is about quality, not quantity. I'd be offended if Warne signed kids from other clubs on loan when we seemed to have our own decent lads ready to play. Top 2 looked a really possibility, but the last few weeks, especially lack of urgency in the window, have curbed that possibility for me. May aswell keep our powder dry, see if by some miracle we go up this year and if not, hope our summer recruitment is a damn sight better than last years, hopefully helped by the sale of Bird and Cashin.
  3. There is clearly something at play we aren't aware of. Most fans I have spoke to are of the same opinion, Vickers is a good keeper, could be a number 1 at many league 1 clubs, but not a clue how or why Wildsmith has been dropped and would have him back in as number 1. One could argue our once defensive solidity has gone since Forsyth and Nyambe got injured/AFCON, but also, since Wildsmith was dropped.
  4. That is a fair argument. I also did say that this year is about quality rather than quantity. It feels like we are light by 2 players. and its a shame, had we integrated Weston, Robinson and Brown more, we might not actually be looking that way.
  5. Except Warne won't play Brown. We have sent him out on loan and we will replace him with a young player with a worse goal scoring record on loan from a prem club.
  6. Really? It always surprises me when someone says no to him. We would have had at least 1 more premier league season under our belt had we got Warnock instead of Lampard imo. His football might not be too dissimilar from Warnes. But Warnock knows the game, has far more contacts than Warne. And if he can make Sol Bamba a premier league footballer he is capable of anything.
  7. Imagine being gazumped by Oxford 😆 Oh how the mighty fall
  8. Top of the table? Because without him we wouldn't be scoring, we wouldn't be as high in the table, Clowes may have been pressured into sacking Warne, a new manager comes in, a new striker is signed, he scores more than Collins, we are top. Simple 😉
  9. Sack Warne. Get Warnock in. Put Wildsmith back in goal. We have just played Lincoln, a Reading in dissaray and a very poor Cheltenham side...and made a right pigs ear of it. We should be top of the table after those 3 games.
  10. See, I told you Paul would sort it, the bloke is a genius.
  11. Problem is and I think the real issue, is that Paul works the players so hard in training that by the 2nd half of the season they completely shagged out. So as much as I'd love Neil Warnock to come in and save us, I think the damage is done.
  12. Get Bradley on!! Stick him up front...May as well go for it Paul. Paul will sort this...he is a really good coach.
  13. He would be out of his depth in my sons paddling pool.
  14. My nan is looking for a companion if he is happy to sit with her the odd day?
  15. Still no Wildsmith ffs. Any ideas where man of the match elder is? I'm guessing a slight knock?
  16. I guarantee Paul, when asked for an update tomorrow will say something to the effect "I've got half the targets in I would have liked, there is one more I'd like to do, it's footballs worse kept secret who that player is, we've tabled an offer, it's a good one, well I wouldn't turn my nose up at it, but it's down to the club. If we don't get him, so be it, will we have enough? That remains to be seen, but it's up to me to get the best out of them"
  17. So the last we will see of him.
  18. I think this would help. Mark Thomas gets a bit of flack, but if he is presenting Paul with potential signings and he refused them, what can he do?
  19. Maybe Warne as decided against signing a striker after seeing Sonny Bradley up front briefly the other night. Signing a defender frees Bradley up to take up a strikers position.
