  1. I wouldn’t quite describe it as “exemplary”. Our performances against Northampton and Wycombe (in my book, by and large, the management and players take joint responsibility for the poor performances and credit for the good ones) in particular are enough of blot to make such an accolade unjustified. Even most of the wins have been less than convincing but, I agree with your other sentiments. whether he is the right man to rebuild and go again is uncertain (I do understand certain posters concerns) but I do think he’s got us close enough not to be sacked. Again, I get the concerns voiced by some others if we go up but he will have earned the right to give it a go.
  2. And the four cup vouchers at the back.
  3. Do you mean after next week’s deadline? I have no idea.
  4. I think you’re confused. That’s just the waiting list for Cambridge tickets. 😀
  5. I’m not sure you’ll get anything in the post so, don’t wait. To renew you just need to go online (your new price and confirmation of your seat will be there) or ring up. Hurry up though, you’ve only got just over a week.
  6. I reckon I’ve probably still got the confirmation of my first ST, delivered by carrier pigeon, somewhere. 😀
  7. True but I didn’t advocate putting any player on for a five minute cameo. But if we did, nothing personal against JJ, a player here on loan (that hasn’t appeared a great deal) would probably be bottom of my list.
  8. Why, unless he's likely to sign for us next year If we're looking at a 5 minute cameo when the result is safe, I'd rather it was youngster or some other first team regular.
  9. I'm sure it will be somewhere between the two. Go for the win but not so gung-ho that we put ourselves too much at risk of losing. On the front foot please but with control and composure.
  10. You should be able to see it in purchase history. Log on to the DCFC site. Click on your profile at the top. From the drop down options select "my match tickets". On the left hand side select "season tickets" That's how it looks on my Ipad anyway.
  11. From what I can make out, all this article tell us is if you run a random set of numbers many times you’re much more likely to get the spread of results you’d expect than if you only ran it once. That’s pretty obvious stuff in the same way that if you tossed a coin 6 times, the chances are that you wouldn’t get a 50:50 split between heads and tails. If you tossed a coin 10,000 times though, you would get much closer to half heads and half tails. The author claims to have taken into account the fact all teams don’t start the league equal and has allowed for some being stronger than others when arriving at the random number that generate the results for each individual game. However, as far as I can see, he hasn’t explained what weighting he has applied nor how he has applied it. If the weighting is only marginal then you’d expect fairly similar variation to the completely random results. I don’t think anyone is denying that the larger the sample size the more likely the results are to reflect expectation. But what I think we are saying is that, over the course of a full season, whilst there still be a few random results where a “weaker” team will beat a “stronger” team, the impact of these unexpected results will be dissipated to an extent that the league table, by and large, reflects the relative strengths of the teams competing. and breath………
  12. If only we had someone that could score from set pieces. 😀
  13. Totally agree with your second paragraph. However, whilst it would be more exciting to finalise promotion at home on the last day, for the sake of my heart, I’d be quite happy if we confirmed promotion at Cambridge. 😀
  14. Probably not but I’m sure a few posters on this forum are. 😀
  15. That depends on what Bolton (or Posh) do on Saturday. It isn’t inconceivable that Bolton beat Port Vale by 3 or 4 goals. Meaning, if we say only beat Cambridge by a single goal, we’d go into the final game with a 3 point advantage but our gd advantage cut to 3 or less. If that happened it wouldn’t require a combination of a heavy defeat for us and a big win for Bolton for them to overtake us. The only certainty is, if we get better results than both Bolton and Posh on Saturday then we’re up. Anything less (other than a defeat for us and a handsome win for either Bolton or Peterborough) probably leaves us as favourites going into the last games.
  16. I did think of putting @ap04 on ignore but I find his posts and arguments unintentionally hilarious.
  17. I reckon there’s no manager in the entire league that would think it’s done and dusted yet or indeed if we still have a three point lead (and six points on Peterborough) after Saturday. They would be insane to think so.
  18. That’s what I’ve been preaching for a long time and I rather suspected that we wouldn’t have to look too far to find possibly a noisy minority wanting the manager out regardless.
  19. You’re right. Along with many others on this forum, I was at that game and seem to recall a sense of inevitability about the result rather than surprise.
  20. It’s not “irrelevant ”if we win on Saturday (unless both Posh and Bolton drop points). It means the chances of us failing to go up would be very remote but, still possible. That’s all I’m saying.
  21. I agree but I'm just saying, don't count your chickens. As has been mentioned previously, it's not that long again that we only needed a draw at home to lowly Reading (admittedly, a different proposition to playing Carlisle - I hope) to make the play offs but we ended up losing. I'm also predicting a draw in that final game Posh v Bolton but who knows what will happen. One team may be resting players for the play offs whilst the other is going all guns blazing in order to overtake us. Look at last season. Barnsley, already in the play offs and 12 points ahead of Posh, end up losing 2:0 at home to them on the last day.
  22. Don't forget, we also need to better Peterborough's result as well to be absolutely certain on Saturday. They've got a big goal difference to make up (probably most of it over their next two games as I can't see either Bolton or Posh beating the other by more than a goal or two) but, you never know. We may need to keep the champagne on ice.
  23. Everybody moans on X don't they?
  24. Is this you confessing that you’re not happy if we get promoted then? 😀
  25. Does this qualify as a legitimate point worthy of debate? No, I didn’t think so.
