I agree, people do lots of things for lots of reasons but saying thank you or just a nod or a wave costs nothing.  I consider myself a conscientious driver and often let people out in front of me when safe to do so and I will never get tired of a thank you wave or flash of the hazards.  It's not why I do it but it is still nice.

Have to agree. There are a couple of teams forums I've used in the past and a few I haven't but still check in on daily and the amount of abuse and bickering that goes on between fans OF THE SAME CLUB is tragic. That's all it seems to be on thread after thread and it gets sad and tiresome.
This forum mostly I have found to be filled with fans of varying backgrounds and opinions like Jono said but each willing to listen to one another and try to help too if need be. Rarely do folk get abusive or obnoxious and that is despite Derby being a big club and therefore the site having many many more users than many clubs. You'd have thought you'd get a fair selection of knobs but no. Everyone is friendly and there for help and advice about anything if needed. Even hard to talk about things like depression and addictions. Nobody judges.
Spot on Jono. It's a great and fun place to be and that's credit to all the Derby fans that use it and of course Dave and the mods that help run it.

Not being acknowledged when I've stopped at a zebra crossing to let someone across. Just a nod of the head would suffice, not asking for a tip or anything.

I sound like a similar gamer to you and never play online.  I have a PS4 and have got a lot of enjoyment out of games like Fallout4 and Unchartered 4 amongst others.  There are games with short pieces of action followed by long cut scenes (Until Dawn) springs to mind but I did still enjoy that.
    I'd get one...

What came to my mind with these ads, and there's been Sainsbury's, John Lewis,   Very, etc over the weekend, is that everyone I know watches commercial television on a delay so they can skip the ads anyway

Once in Huddersfield ASDA a lazy fatty tried to get into one of the shop provided mobility scooters and drive off.  They hadn't realised it was plugged in and it went bang!  I think they lost some of their significant weight in that few seconds.

Linked to this I really dislike the really loud 'look at me' type conversations that people seem to have.  I really have no interest in your lives or what you have to say.

It's like a minor bereavement, probably on a par with losing a goldfish. I could go and get another one, but nothing will bring that one back.

I've been wanting to post in here for nearly a week but not quite built up the courage until now.  I have had a slight history with depression initially diagnosed in 2009 as Stress, Depression and Anxiety - although I am not sure what ratios I was suffering with each of them or how long I had actually been ill.  Back then it was related my mum being diagnosed with a terminal illness and being made redundant and the confidence issues related to that.  I had tablets from the doctor and with a couple of small setbacks have been pretty good for most of the time since.

Then on Monday there was a change at work, our MD and his number 2 have been made redundant our team are moving to be part of another.  This has created a massive worry for me.  It is filling all my thoughts, I am losing my appetite, struggling to sleep, not enjoying things that I previously love and not wanting to be alone as that is thinking time.  My question is, when does being worried about something become something more serious?
It has brought home how my job - which is probably 75-80% of the family income - underpins everything we as a family have and I just keep replaying thoughts of everything we could lose.

I wonder how many people have read stuff on this thread and thought, 'wait a minute I do that.'
I haven't because I am nigh on perfect, and would loudly tell anyone around before breaking into a loud laugh.

I agree with Ewetube regarding celebrities asking me to give my money to charity when they are living super rich lifestyles and travelling around the world first class, I do believe that Lenny Henry is an honourable exception to that rule because it appears that he has largely forsaken progressing his own career to concentrate on charity work (I do accept he is probably not living on the breadline in a Chaddesden Terraced house).
The likes of Simon Pegg (random example) telling me to give money to charity does get right on my wick though.

What really gets me, are 'celebrity' t.v. shows (I'm a Celebrity, Celebrity Come Dine with Me, Celebrity Wipeout) that are full of people only famous for being on other reality programmes - being on Made in Chelsea, Gogglebox, Geordie Shore..does NOT make you a celebrity.

if there's one thing you should know, you should never feel like your own feelings, if though you perhaps cannot explain and understand them, are irrelevant on the basis of comparison.
The whole reason I started this thread was because I was consumed and confused. Consumed by a heavy sadness, and confused as to why, when I have no relative reason (compared to others).
It became apparent from this thread that there is a massive spectrum from being aware you feel a bit low, to being on the brink of suicide, and beyond.
I cannot tell you what to do, and I cannot and will not tell you to ignore your feelings, but one or two things I will advise, take an hour and read through this thread, it will amaze you what you relate to and what you pick up. I will also say, talk to someone, anyone, it doesn't matter who, just saying it will be massively therapeutic and will trigger the recovery (or dealing with) process. Also, if weights aren't working, change the exercise for something else, if you're in a rut or regime, you won't feel a sense of achievement and a challenge.
All said and done mate, you are not alone in your feelings. You never will be. Hope things improve for you, and if you ever want to PM me, please do so. I have PMd others off the back of this thread, and it helped me, and others have PMd me, and I sincerely hope just talking helped them.
