  1. I don't see how anybody can judge a player like Elder until he has had a decent run in the team and got his fitness back up. Give the guy a chance!
  2. Very well said. The clubs want the TV money, to pay ever increasing fees, commissions and wages. So they have rolled over and sold out to SKY. Its got to stop, a simple wage cap, points deducted if any trading loss declared, and no more parachute payments. Ditch the sky deal completely, and start again. I won't subscribe to SKY as a matter of principle. I've also really enjoyed watching football at 3pm most saturdays either at Pride Park or on Rams TV for away games.
  3. Give the guy a chance, he was not fit, and took a while to settle in! We have seen a little of what he can do, and I'm sure with a full pre season he will be an asset next season. Any chance to have a dig with some people...
  4. I would add Elder, Wilson, CBT and hopefully Thompson and Sibley to that spine also.
  5. I for one will not be paying sky a single penny. It looks like the clubs are only interested in the money on offer and have sold the fans down the line I'm afraid. However if nobody buys the sky service lets see what happens! Give me Owen Shaun every time!
  6. Well regarded at Ipswich, and quite possibly a premier player next season!
  7. A few points, turnover will be up this season, given the big attendances in the latter half of the season. Quite possibly half a million or so more. Also, pre COVID we hit £31 million turnover in the championship if I recall, with the revised TV deal that should be higher next season.
  8. I strongly suspect DC will be aiming to run the club as close to break even as possible. The extra turnover will cover the existing annual loss as long as they don't go mad with squad size etc. If an additional investor comes along I'd wonder if that will be selling more new shares, or buying out some of CD's shareholding, plus buying some new shares. Ipswich did this recently, a USA based hedge fund bought something like £100 million of new shares, leaving them somewhat cash rich. Good if they get promoted!
  9. I think there is no need to renew Warnes contract, and the next review will be at the end of next season, unless results are a disaster before then. You only have to look at the team Brian Clough put together. Plenty of unfancied players who were grafters, and previously journeymen. Amazing what attitude, belief and momentum can do. Adams has dropped into the right place at the right time, he is loving it and just look at him grow! Wilson and Cashin too!
  10. It could be so simple too. Any team declaring a trading loss (Cash flow in v cash flow out - No fancy accounting) has an immediate substantial points deduction, applied at the time, AND again at the start of the next season. Then a salary cap, removal of all parachute payments, and relegation clause in all contracts reducing wages down to championship/league one levels. Simple.
  11. Given we lost most of our best young talent in administration, I suspect it will take a while to fill that void in the pipeline!
  12. Hes looked pretty decent when he came back from in jury, shame he then got injured again. I suspect he might be a good player for us next season if he can stay fit. A good pre season will help.
  13. CD certainly does have the firepower to own and run the club. They may not make a big song and dance ( like DC!) but take a read of their most recent annual report. Impressive well run business, no dividends paid to shareholders either. Everything reinvested. Their property portfolio they are taking income from is massive.
  14. Great suggestions, how about the west stand lower becoming the paddock? Then be bold and rename the south stand the Osmaston end and the north the Normanton end...
  15. I do hope Rams TV continues, even if they have to trip amount of cameras etc to cut costs. Its an excellent service. I will not be subscribing to anything Sky TV offer as a matter of principle, they have used their financial muscle to reduce market choice. I hope we all do the same. Boycott SKY!
