Am I the only person who couldn't give a toss about the Olympics?

The point is to promote something which is positive - the ethic of dedication, teamwork and a world coming together in a peaceful environment. Name me a country which doesn't have starving and sick people. There will never be enough money to go around. Holding the Olympics might just inspire some kids in this country. I agree with you that allowing McDonalds in is a joke, but let's see how much money the games bring in before we criticise its expediture.

The Olympic Games has only ever made 1 profit which was in Los Angeles. In Greece the facilities are broken down, hardly used and they are still paying it off. It is nonsense to suggest there isn't enough money to go around, it is simply that wealth redistribution isn't working properly in a capitalistic framework at the moment. Currently there is more than enough money to sustain everyone it just isn't being shared out anywhere near evenly. The gap between the richest and the poorest is currently the biggest it has ever been.

Sorry for getting YR started everyone. I should have thought of that before I made the thread.

In fairness it has been a while 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> and I am sure some miss the old YR spirit of argument to find the truth 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

My version is often the truth, truth is often subjective LR to the person facts are different from truths 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I believe I have the truth and just because I am in the minority it doesn't make me wrong 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm just messin YR, the forum wouldn't be the same without you causing rows giving your very valid and genuine opinions. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I know it wouldn't 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> I ought to have a message like Young Ram has created arguments since 2009

Thing is with the olympics (bar the odd event like Football, Boxing, Tennis), you are watching the best of the best. The very best. Out of all 7 billion people in the world, the Olympics can narrow down the fastest of all to just one person. Who wouldn't find that interesting?

Music, sport, and drama are all great to see/listen to when you see the best of the best. You've got to appreciate it at least.

The olympics does interest me, it's something I'm looking forward to, and we're gonna put on a very good show.

The Scottish Highland games are more interesting. A fat jock launching a log as far as possible is better entertainment. Cheaper as well.
