It's usually a good indication of who Clough sees as first team. It will be interesting to see what numbers he leaves empty. Last season 8 was obviously left open for a new signing and one never came. I expect maybe both 5 and 6 to be free but OB or bucko could have one. Jacobs or bavies might get 7 im guessing the formidable pair in cm will be 8 and 4. Maybe Tyson will lose 9 for a sub number? Anyway might give some clues to what we might be getting in! trekkie_ram Posted July 11, 2012 Share Posted July 11, 2012 I don't see why anyone we've brought in would change number (ie Tyson, Theo, Bavies, Barker etc), obviously Shackell & SDavies numbers will be available. 6 will be reserved for a new defender, I think OB could potentially get it, but it seems like such a kick in the nads [size=3][for fans expecting a new signing][/size] that the board will avoid it. Jacobs will almost certainly get 11. Youth team players are the only ones likely to change, so Jeff Hendrick could potentially get 8 and Will Hughes is a contender for 7. Although it is a possibility that he won't get a number, his current number certainly won't be given away. Or maybe it would, who knows. Wait and see I guess. I guess the last game of our promotion season inder TBE. In fact can anyone name a team that have dedicated numbers that uave started 1-11? I can only thonk of 1!!
