Rams Memorabilia

thought i would start a new topic if its OK with you guys,

I have had an interest for a while in collecting genuine items of Derby County interest and I have number of unique items, most of the time you never get to see or hear of what others have as it is a taboo subject, in our house most things are wrapped up and then banished up into the loft space never to be spoken of again (normally due to the fact that the wife does not understand why I would spend good money on some of the items I have), some things I do have out though and on display in my office so I thought I would share these with you fellow rams fans and see what you think and if you have anything similar.

this is my most treasured piece, I have personally collected every signature on here and there are around 140 of the greatest players to have played for the Rams or to have managed them,

My second item that I like is the shirt that was worn by Chris Powell during the last game to be played at the Baseball Ground against Arsenal on May 11 1997 (or the last competitive match involving Derby County i should say), it was signed by the rest of the squad and the management team and is quite a conversation point.

As you can see it is an embroided badge on the front not the cheap foam type substance that was used on the replica shirts and has the name number and oversized premier league badges on the sleeves so all in all a nice piece of history Chris Powell was also our player of the year in that season so that adds to it a little bit more, I wish my piece of turf still looked in this condition !!! but I must say the pile of bricks I have are still looking the same !

third item of interest is this shirt made by Joma for the play off finals, it is one of only 50 that were made for the club and is signed by the team, it was a one off shirt for a one of game that was followed by a one of season (i hope).19..us/img19/7851/dsc00741gr

the picture signed by all of the rams greats still needs a couple more signatures before i am happy, i have been waiting for Bruce Rioch to come out of hiding as he is the only player of the two championship teams that i need to sign it and from the more modern day and one of the last real derby heroes is Dean Saunders who i miss every time he comes to Pride Park but as you can imagine this isnt the sort of picture you can just carry around with you on the off chance, so if any body knows of an easy way to track down Bruce or deano please let me know, i know Mr Rioch lives in Cornwall nowdays and if anybody has any further suggestions of who can sign it then please let me know, i will get david langan to sign it at his book signing later in the year.

How can anyone not to appreciate your collection ? I can only speculate how much money you have put getting your collection to be what it is but obviously it is worth something too. I mean moneywise. But it's worth much more than the money. You should be proud of that collection.

Final one and probably the most interesting we will see how many know what it is and what they may be worth

No idea what they're worth but is it the Referees watch and medal along with the team sheet of the 1946 FA Cup Final?

Why is it only signed by the Derby team?

this is one of the benefits of supporting a club like ours theres not much good stuff around but because we have been great (and here is some of the proof) we believe in our hearts that we can be great again and that is what keeps us going year in year out through the tough times because maybe just maybe the next season is where the next great adventure begins,

we are not like united where we expect a trophy every season or it has been a failure, we are not like citeh or chelsea where we buy our success,

it is born into us and we are brought up with it from our dads and we work and socialise with fellow rams fans and we went to school with people who were the same as us we are Derby ! Super Derby !!

I'm interested in wris****ches. If you let me know everything you know about that watch I could do some research tomorrow and probably give you a ballpark. Can't see what it says in the watch. Strap looks like authentic though.

the winners all received a watch and of course a winners FA cup medal and the the pages are the centre pages of a pristine FA cup final programme also signed by the manager and the guys who did not make the team that day, priceless
