Afonso Alves - Middlesbrough, Gareth Southgate (okay, maybe not a good/great manager) £12.7 million transfer for 10 goals in 50 games.

Winston Bogarde - Chelsea, Gianluca Vialli (althought think the chairman actually conducted the deal) 9 appearences and around £10 million spent on wages.

Asamoah Gyan - Sunderland, Steve Bruce £13 million for 35 appearences and 10 goals.

Dont diss Gyan. Him and Sessegnon actually made Sunderland ,sort of, exciting to watch.

He's a decent player, but for the amount spent on him its got to go down as a blunder. Sessegnon and McClean make Sunderland worth watching!
