Obi1Kenobi0
1) Igor - In his prime and playing for us, never heard of him before he signed. Was always weird chanting "Igor", "Igor". The man is class. 2) Dean Saunders - What a perm! Best natural goal scorer I've seen play for us. 3) Mark Wright - In his prime and felt real pride at Italia 90 when he played. 4) Asanovic - World class. Can't remember better in the middle. 5) Poom - Never let us down, Mr consistent. 6) Eranio - Real class. 7) Idiakez - A real coup from Burley, best dead ball specialist I've seen play for us. 8) Wanchope - Best debut of all time 9) Seth lad - So much commitment. 10) Chris Powell, Great guy and came up from the lower leagues. Massive mistake letting him go. Mmmm can't be bothered thinking of another ten who stand out.
Dangerous
re- daryl "football genius" powell. After seeing Derby get stuffed at West Ham once I watched Powells dad hold court outside the ground, stating that his Daryll is a better player than Eranio,at that point I (and others)called him a **** and walked away. calling powell a football genius is like calling raul moat a level headed gent. RebelScum
Gosh! Ok, my favourites, so all these will have to be after 1985 and in no particulaer order... 1. Mark Wright... First name on the sheet! 2. Igor Stimac... Class act. 3. Bobby Davidson... I guess Im at that age. 4. Mart Poom... Great keeper used to have a Derby towel when he represented estonia, scored against us :-/ 5. Stephano Eranio... Everything we created seemed to go through him. 6. Aljosa Asanovic... Lots of skill, work rate and style - he used to wear plain lens glasses. 7. Tommy Smith... Always wanted him to stay at Derby. 8. Paul McGrath... Never has a player played so few games for derby and had such an effect. 9. Dean Saunders... Remember his debut - scored a brace, hadn't heard of him before we got him from oxford. 10. Inigo Idiakez... In the early days at Derby not the later ones when he was not interested. 11. Georgi Kinkladze 12. Ted McMinn 13. The Coffee Cup... Scored a class goal against the red dogs in 2004. 14. Robbie Savage... Added a bit of character to the club - completly transformed since the man u cup home game. 15. Paul Simpson 16. Gary Micklewhite 17. Nigel Callaghan 18. Francesco Bainio 19. Chris Powell... True professional 20. Leon Osman... can he count as he was on loan? I have not included any current players but I have no doubt that there are a few that will be on this list in five years time... which is good! UTR.93
from the players i've seen... 1. Idiakez, no player has had me wanting and failing as a younger boy to emulate how he played. 2. Poooooooooooooooooooooooooom 3. Seth Johnson 4. Baiano, first shirt i can ever remember having had his name on! 5. Giles Barnes, yes we all hate him but every single time he ran with the ball we expected great stuff to happen! 6. David Jones 7. Peschi 8. Tommy Smith! Top player should have been here many more years than he was 9. Delap 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> always seemed to score when i went, always remember his 2 goals vs Chelsea in the 3-1 win in 1999-2000! 10. haywood8
Asanovic Gabiadini Stimac Wanchope Christie Kitson Poom Mceverly Green Kinkladze S.Davies Tito villa Idiakez Fielding HENDRICK These aren't in order and aren't particularly the best players, just players that I've always really liked and are fondly remembered. I could have added others such as commons, barnes and mears but I look back and don't feel too much or too much mixed emotion to add them. McEverley....are you having a giraffe? haywood8
Yeah full of heart and he bounced a ball off some forest players head, just liked the guy That was Gunters head...that was funny & would have him on my side in a brawl, but not for intelligent defending. Didnt he give 2 or 3 pens away for Barnsley at Reading not long ago?
CumbrianRam
Didnt he give 2 or 3 pens away for Barnsley at Reading not long ago? Yeah he did. He was one of the least intelligent footballers I have ever seen!
uttoxram75
Agree with the views on Jay Mc's football ability and intelligence but he'll always be a legend for making that mardy gunt sausageer look like a little boy. sausageer came up to Jay giving it the big un, squared up to him and Jay just looked down and bounced the ball on his head dismissively, as if to say "go away little boy". Priceless. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
