StaffsRam
Yeah cracks me up that they're mentioning roy keane - well known for assembling teams on a shoestring....

smiffy
Yup, he'll be looking for the club to fund itself now - no more £10m a year to balance the books. First step, flog off a few "assets" to cover the losses. Then a manager who is able to cull the expensive squad and get the wages under control. Good job Nige hates them so much. I think he's exactly what they need, and I don't know who else has the ability to replace an expensive squad with one capable of competing at a fraction of the cost. Sure he may cut off the supply, but he will never get his money back, maybe a small percentage. Don't forget he is a Scum supporter through and through, not a foreign import, so I dont think he will ever let them go into administration. Do we play them after the window opens again? cause they could have a real shoe string squad by then. Shall we take McGugan off them? Do we need him? I only think he would improve our squad atm. GboroRam
No, he'll not let them go under. Fan or not, going under doesn't get his money back. And no, he'll never get it all back. Or even a sizeable chunk of it. He won't get his money back, but more importantly it's unlikely he's going to get further into debt funding them. To be honest he'd made it clear by the sounds of things that he wasn't going to when he was still at the helm - now he's stepping down, even less chance he's spending his own money. Radical change on the cards. Turmoil and interesting times.

StaffsRam
To be fair there really aren't that many of their players that would get into our squad. Can't even take a LB off them. Perhaps mcgugan could warm the bench for us but thats about it.

A little bird tell me Lewis has a few problems of a social nature. Not sure he'd fit in with the type of player nige is after. Agree that he's a good player tho. Cohen? oh wait.... jagerbob
I say blaime billy davies like we did. He always spends, spends then spends again, and bullies the board of his club into giving up more cash then they can afford and when he doesnt quite make it, or engineers his own sacking he leaves the clubs in the preverbial! Alph
I'd have Moussi, Miller and McGugan. Gunter is decent too when in form. But he's a knob. So he can stay aboard the sinking ship. Oh, bring in McClaren!! Great assistant!

I'd say all boys from long eaton are lovely lads and any allegations against them regarding their habits are probably untrue - if indeed any were made - which they weren't. good player tho'.
