You can't argue that your signings have been all middle of the road championship players - not knocking it, but I prefer our way of going about things, because we don't know what we're going to get and no-one knows what to expect.

Whereas Forest have signed players who're all pretty well known around the championship, which is arguably buying 'proven' players but as I said earlier - you spend 500k on a established championship defender/midfielder/striker and that is what you're going to get, nothing more, nothing less.

Whereas in the past we've gone for a few gambles, both from the prem, and from the lower leagues, and sometimes in the championship - not all of them work, for instance Moxey, Croft, Pringle...etc but it's exciting when you find some that do, and arguably we've done that fairly successfully, otherwise we wouldn't of finished top half last season.

Jacobs for example, first game and 5 assists. I can't wait to see more of him!

I'm glad we're going down the sensible rout. We had quite a few gambles last season and most didn't work (Derbyshire, Boateng) although some did pay off (Guedioura, Reid in the end). So yeah, 500k for solid Championship players is alright for me. For now at least.

they were completely different type of gambles - in terms of Greening, Derbyshire, Miller...etc these were very much players who were thought to be a better player than this division - was wanting of big wages for their services and then lacked substance when played.

Players failing at clubs is no shock - happens all the time, just like players coming from no-where to steal limelight.

Cox is a good signing, but I thought Miller was a great signing 12 months ago - so it is important to hold judgement until you see a player play, especially at this level!

You laughing at the fact one of your best young players hates the club and the manager and can't wait to move to a more ambitious club??

Is this the part where Forest fans deny all knowledge of their claims he has talent and is now just a poor cast off.

To be honest no one at Forest will really know how good the lad is, as he never played a league or cup game for the first team.

4 different managers overlooked him SM, Billy, Cotts & SOD

One for the Future maybe, seems to have attitude problems when not in the first team though. I thought he would go to a team that will play him. Can Derby fit him in the first team ?

Think Clough is looking for players to compete for position. One thing we've always lacked is cover at LB/RB, it's a young squad so as long as he's hungry enough he'll get games.
