Following the debate surrounding the build up to Chelsea's second goal at Wembley on Sunday, The FA has issued the following clarification surrounding injured players:

An FA spokesman said: “Play should continue until the referee stops the game. Players should play to the whistle. When the referee believes an injury is serious, he can stop play immediately to enable treatment. If the referee believes a player is only slightly injured then he will allow play to continue until the ball is out of play.

“Historically, players have kicked the ball out for opponents or team-mates to receive treatment. The expectation had then been for the ball to be returned to the team which kicked the ball out. However, this approach led to inconsistencies. For clarity, the guidance is for players to let the referee decide when to stop the game.

On that day. Ward Forest will forever be known as a classless bunch of whinging ****. No Never able to changing that

Corrected it for you

1. Unprofessional to harrang the Ref and try and get a player sent off

2. You play to the whistle, the player fell over, no contact no foul.

Andy Reid set the bar that day. Demanding Fielding was sent off, encouraging the forest team to surround the ref.....anyway, if you take your blinkers off for one second you'll recall that the forest player went down a yard in front of the ref - who then waved play on.

Your mardiness is second only to your bitterness. Its a glorious day, you have the richest family on earth (!) as your owners, you have an iconic manager with international experience (well, he played 3 times for Eire) and are preparing to unleash the biggest spending spree in history...yet you worry about what poor ickle Derby say about you.... You know, looking back at Wards goal. Had I been sausageer I'd of kicked Ward into row z.

But nobody tried to. Because NOBODY knew how serious Cohen was injured.

Blame play acting. You can never trust injuries now. Unless the injury is really bad (Player clutching chest/head etc) you should always play on now. Every team, every time.

We were 2-1 down I think it was, to Burnley last season. We were bombarding their goal. Absolutely hammering them with about 15mins left. It took about 25mins to play 15mins of match time. We're talking like every tackle producing an injury. A arm across the chest leaving player clutching his throat.

It's a fooking joke. I wouldn't kick a ball out for anyone. Not with what goes on.

Cohen could just as easily limped off and sprinted back on for all we know.

sausageer is one of the biggest play actors in The Champ. An absolute fanny.

A big problem (Among quite a few others) we had last season was we never played to the whistle. In our games last season we've had two massive injuries, just hope it doesn't happen this time.

I've never noticed Gunter play acting, probably because we were used to Derbyshire's play acting. The bloke is so lightweight I'm surprised he doesn't fly off after he makes a run, although he's probably injured before then.
